"Lo-Boy Hits Big with U.S. Audiences!"

8/12/04 Chicago IL. "Lo-Boy" apparently the new trend in sex appeal with their clean young soft-sell feminine excitement, brought some much needed originality, solid entertainment value & talent thursday night opening for Ashanti and Missy Elliot, at Chicago's Alstate arena. Lo-Boy's surprisingly infectious melodies coming from curvacious 20 yr old lead singer Mandi Seekings with Abbey Brazley (x-Geffen recording artist) who sings and plays bass & Guitar in the band along with Karyn Sarring really had fans clammering for more and out of their seats the whole 50-minute plus-set thursday night. This was another home-run performance following their Dallas opener Sunday night which drew over 20,000 plus screaming fans for the relative newcomers & just one of the first stops along the self launched tour of over 25 US city's starting last week headlining 1000 seater venues (like the famous First Ave in Minneapolis) and medium size arena's all over, boldly opening for some pretty big young pop rock & R & B MTV top sellers.
The tour reportedly will take them through: Milwakee, Detroit, Miami, Philidelphia, & Seattle before heading back to L.A. ending up at Honolulu's NBC arena in October w Sheryl Crow.
Watch for a Japan leg and the announcement of the second album scheduled for early 05. JP - Sun-Times/ Jim Pearson

"Lo-Boy... Surprise highlight of 04 summer tours!"

"Lo-Boy Comes to town" out of nowhere seemingly a pop r& b killer group wow's-um over at the(5,000+ seat) Auditorium theatre where audiences lined-up around the block in a last ditch attempt to see this show heralded as the new wave in pop music. Advertised only 5-days prior to the show, Ticket phone lines were swamped like the second coming of the beatles selling out in less than 1-hr.of going on sale.
Gorgeous, extremely gifted Mandi Seeings and company laid down the challenge that you can still attract a wide variety of fans if you stick to your guns and just play good music and leave the posing and fluff at home. Theres a buzz about this band that's everywhere latley and if your smart you'll keep an eye on this one. Pull over, cause Lo-Boy is coming to town. - Entertainer Magazine/ Kimberly Stewart

The first Single "Baby don't stop" is off the latest Lo-Boy CD release titled: "12 of lo-boy's hottest new tracks" currently on radio, available at www.towerrecords.com, walmart.com, bet.com, in record stores and many online vendors, w free song clips (of every track) and available for download or mail orders.

Feeling a bit camera shy

Pop-R & B mainstay & Maui residents Lo-Boy, releases “12 of the hottest new Lo-Boy Tracks,” which is available simultaneously online and in stores. With 3000 album downloads the first day using only a 15 second cable spot in 5-US citys. This is the first Lo-Boy album in 2004 and there's a lot riding on these songs, both for the band, the Studio and for their fans. The band has a lot to accomplish, a lot to sing about and this sensational new release really hit’s the bull’s eye.

Starting with the album cover that depicts sizzling hot new 20-year-old singing sensation Mandi Seekings noticeably present so you’re obviously tempered by an in-your-face conclusion: The x-Geffen, RCA, (2-Gold Records) singer-songwriter turned producer and head of Lo-Boy publishing & recording studios on Maui, Alvin (Abbey) Brazley, is as exciting and gifted a singer as producer and is a crucial new influence in today’s music scene. Internationally recognized vocal coach and keyboardist Karyn Sarring partners with Abbey and Mandi on keyboards and vocals, writing & performing the new Lo-Boy tracks, recorded over the last two years.

The band has been building up power, and the energy gained from time has given their sound an almost impossible high pressure, making these songs drip with energy. With as much claim to be old-school as nearly any band working today, there's no denying Lo-Boy has reached a level of professionalism and skill that has obviously served them well. Mandi and Abbey make it look too easy, with their edgy & sweet soul trade-off and unpretentious mixing of pop culture--from radio to film to television, their melodies hang with many levels of emotion. Just as you're listening, it all comes together--the grooves, the harmonies, the unstoppable beats. Then you realize why Lo-Boy is so irresistible. Part of the Lo-Boy magic is slipping mind-blowing tunes in your head floating over a groove that shakes your body. If, sound-wise, there's a lot on the disc that's surprising, that fits the bill just fine. These tracks fit into any play list or soundtrack. The sound is smooth, the beat's tight, and the words are clever & sweet enough to carry the old-school familiarity that infuses the album's 12 ultra catchy songs. Lo-Boy serves up the lesson of writing from the heart and mixing up the best of the world around you with originality, substance and above all, heat!
