Bio

Local Dudes was formed in the spring of 2011 by former Neon Nights members Lou Molitch (vocals and guitar), Jeff Borgueta (drums) and Matt Richardson (bass). After 5 years of playing the hard and fast party punk Neon Nights were well known for, the band decided to change directions and develop a new roots oriented rock and roll sound. More specifically a sound that would reflect the East Coast roots of the band members, (Borgueta and Richardson moved to Seattle from Newport, RI and Lou Molitch was born in Philly, PA). Keyboardist Mike Day was added to the lineup and the band was renamed Local Dudes. The heartland rock sounds of Bruce Springsteen, Southside Johnny, Joe Grushecky, and Bob Seger are their most apparent influences but the years spent playing punk and hardcore gives Local Dudes a raw edge that other modern Americana rock bands don't have. As their name should imply, Local Dudes keep it simple and unpretentious with their bluesy power pop songs about romance and the working life. Local Dudes played their debut show in August 2011 opening for The Blasters at Nuemos and recently recorded 7 songs with Pierre Furgeson at Foundry Studios in Seattle.
