Local Hero

Local Hero was formed as a joke under previous names when we decided to play at our high school battle of the bands competition. After coming out on top after just 5 weeks of practice and with a band that had played at Summerfest in the mix, we knew we had something good. With such influences as Yellowcard, The Dangerous Summer, The Early November, and All Time Low we're blending rock with pop punk. We're often asked where the name Local Hero comes from, no we don't have that big of egos. Mike had lunch with a Marine friend who had just returned from Iraq. Mike's friend had been written about in the papers, reported on the news and at that lunch Mike asked the young Marine, "What's it like to be the local hero?" Mike's friend replied, "I'm really no hero." To Mike he however was just that so Local Hero is our personel way of honoring our Marine friend Jared.
