Bio

Born in Anchorage Alaska up and coming rap phenomenon “Local$tar” had to travel many miles in the rap game to get where he is at today. At the young age of 12 he was already blessed with the God given talent to be able to bless any MIC with lyrical heat. When he was only 15 years of age in 2000 he teamed up with Joker the Bailbondsman for a collaboration album entitled “The Hustlers.” The album sold well in the streets primarily because of the fact that a young Local$tar hustled the CDs by hand virtually everywhere that he could trying to make a name for himself while pushing the project.

After selling hundreds of CDs Local$tar felt that it was time to move on and start up his own entity within the rap game. By 2004 all of the pieces of the puzzle were set in place and the project “Local$tar: New Kid on the Block” was released. He hustled this classic released out the trunk and in the local mom and pop shops in Alaska and Washington. Many people to this day consider the album a classic even though Local$tar himself doesn’t feel the album anymore;

“Where I’m at right now I don’t like the CD no more because I do much better but every where I go people tell me how much they like that CD.” –Local$tar

In 2005 he teamed up with Vamp, and Trigga to form the group MGC (Money Getting Crew) and dropped the album “Blood Money” up in the Tacoma Washington area. Local$tar funded the whole project and had to re-coup his investment before anyone else could get paid and that is when the group fell apart.

In 2006 it was time for a change of scenery so Local$tar decided to pick up and move to the “Bay Area” and firmly planted his feet on the streets of San Francisco. Local$tar came in right towards the end of the “Hyphy” movement that exploded onto the Bay Area rap scene but brought a whole new style with him which he calls “Swest” which is a mixture of West coast music with a southern feel

“I try to blend the two styles together and add in some east coast. I got lyics too but I don’t try to make it too outrageous to where people can’t understand what I am saying. I Mix all of the coasts together.” –Local$tar

In the summer of 2009 he dropped the mixtape “Put Me On” and achieved something incrediable to say the least and that was getting over 1000 downlaods of the project online. This was a project to introduce himself to the Bay and he accomplished the task.

Now enter 2010 and Local$tar once again has teamed up with former fellow MC, Vamp to form the new hot group “The Hollywood Rejects” which is blowing up big on the west copast rap scene currently doing a lot of shows.

In addition to the to being in the Hollywood Rejects, Local$tar is dropping another classic mixtape which is coming out on June 12th entitled “Bootleg My Shit” and is part of a trilogy of mixtapes slated to drop through out the summer of 2010 which will set up the EP “Speak For Myself” dropping later this year.
