Lyrics

The Easy Way

Written By: Donald Merckle

Who died and made you king
I think I've seen your kind before
Your advice don't mean a thing
I picked myself up of the floor
Suddenly the air is clear
And there's a voice inside my head
Says "Listen son, get up and run"
You've got to live before you, are dead

The Easy Way is never the best way
I've got to take the path I've made
The only upside to feeling low
is there will be a brighter day

Eyes wide, shut up inside
So slap yourself 'cause your to blame
Get busy living or finish dieing
I don't have time to play your game
If it's a crime for me to shine
Then lock me up and throw the key
If I am guilty of anything
I'll save myself and I'll be free

The Easy Way is never the best way
I've got to take the path I've made
The only upside to feeling low
is there will be a brighter day

This heartbreak is on my shelf
I talk about it with no one else
And when it's cold and on my mind
I think about it all the time

Who died and made you king
I think I've seen your kind before
Your advice don't mean a god damn thing
I picked myself up of the floor
Suddenly the air is clear
And there's a voice inside my head
Says "Listen son, get up and run"
You've got to live before you, are dead

The Easy Way is never the best way
I've got to take the path I've made
The only upside to feeling low
is there will be a brighter day

Bringing Down the Mountain

Written By: Donald Merckle

I'm on top of the world and I'm bringing down the mountain
I can do anything 'cause I'm not afraid of falling
I can move the earth, bring about my own awakening
But if you ask me where I'm going or where I've been...
I'm bringing down the mountain

Well I'm not lost, I found myself sitting on the edge of life
Nowhere to go, Nowhere to be, Time is as strong as any knife
My eyes are red, my eyes are dead, We all sleep tight in burning beds
Let's give a hand to modern man He's up the road and back again

I'm on top of the world and I'm Bringing down the mountain
I can do anything 'cause I'm not Afraid of falling
I can move the earth, bring about My own awakening
But if you ask me where I'm going or where I've been...
I'm bringing down the mountain

Some say yes, some say no, some search high and some just go
Without a word, without a smile, Lost in thought or self exile
My eyes are red, my eyes are dead, We all sleep tight in burning beds
Let's give a hand to modern man he's up the road and back again

I'm on top of the world and I'm Bringing down the mountain
I can do anything 'cause I'm not Afraid of falling
I can move the earth, bring about My own awakening
But if you ask me where I'm going or where I've been...
I'm bringing down the mountain

In the Streets

Written By: Donald Merckle

We're off the floor and out the door
We're in the streets and on our own
We know what's right and that's a bore
We're in the streets and on our own

Is it any wonder the sides have grown
Is it any easier so far from home
When I look at myself look the other way
I think that it's ok I'm on my own

You see through me, I see through you
We're in the streets and on our own
It's not what's left, It's what's left to do
We're in the streets and on our own

Is it any wonder the sides have grown
Is it any easier so far from home
When I look at myself look the other way
I think that it's ok I'm on my own

It's more than I can say
When it all just fall's away
When I am so far from home
On my own

We own the night, the blinking night
We're in the streets and on our own
If not today, then yesterday
We're in the streets and on our own

Is it any wonder the sides have grown
Is it any easier so far from home
When I look at myself look the other way
I think that it's ok I'm on my own
