Bio
Originally, as the lead member of the SBI (Southern Black Individuals) crew, Lock and SBI released two albums
entitled "North Cack" and "Dirty South" in 1999. While touring regionally, the group was discovered by a local
entertainment host and producer Erick Shaffer of NBC. The group received major television exposure which resulted in the production
of their first music video and various invitations to perform from producers in the area.
Due to the success of the group, Lock and his brother, Biz, were able to branch off and create their own label called
Woe/Daddy. It is a non-profit organization that teaches young minorities about the music industry along with developing
their skills in the production of music. Their organization also interacted with kids in activities such as
outings (circus, movies, plays, concerts, etc.). Lock's organization raised $10,000 for wheel chair ramps and game machines
for the Boys & Girls Club and supported a young aspiring nurse with a $20,000 scholarship to Wayne Community College.
Presently, Lock's tenacity and success has positioned him to take his career to the next level. His latest album,
entitled "International Dirt," is due to be released this year. He just finalized negotiations for a part in an upcoming
independent feature film; shooting begins April 9, 2010
North Carolina started his performing career as a Hip-Hop Southern style rap artist at an early age with a blast.
His music, written and arranged by himself, continues to strike the attention of fans and producers in the creative
arena of music. LOCK has gained recognition from Master P., Kirk Franklin, and DJ Kool and has participated
in commercials and jingles that promoted his style to a more diverse audience. Just to name a few, LOCK has
opened for national classic acts such as the Lost Boyz, Fat Joe, Keith Murray, Jadakiss, and DJ Kool. LOCK states
that, "All music is an influence but most of all, GOD is my number one influence".
