"Music Row Magazine"

LOCKELAND/Drive
Writers: Susie Brown/Kyndon Oakes/Mark Vikingstad; Producer: Michael Boris/Sean Spence; Publishers: none listed; Lockeland
– The title says it all: This is a roll-down-the-windows, put-the-pedal-down, shout-to-the-heavens, open-road rock, rock, rocker. If this doesn’t quicken your pulse, you need a heart transplant. Loved, loved, loved it. - Robert K Oermann

"Music Row Magazine"

"...Intense picking. Polished group harmonies. Propulsive energy...there’s no denying the talent here" - Robert K Oermann

"Lockeland: Contemporary Country with a Throwback Twist"

“Drive” isn’t just the name of the newest single from country trio Lockeland. It is also the character trait that united these three ambitious musicians and fueled their recent UK tour and music video release – all while holding down day jobs. According to band member/guitarist Mark Vikingstad, “You’re putting in hard work for your day job to make the money to put in the hard work for what you want to have as your career – music.” - Live Laugh Love Nashville

"Exclusive Premiere: Lockeland Releases Debut Music Video for Drive"

This past March, Michael Boris, Kyndon Oakes and Mark Vikingstad, otherwise known as Lockeland, made their arrival onto the country music scene with their debut single “Til The Cows Come Home.” The track might as well been called “Til Lockeland Comes Home” as the trio solidified their spot with an impressive lineup of accolades and high profile appearances since. The single hit the Top 40 on the MusicRow Country Breakout Chart, earning a featured performance on the CMA Spotlight Stage during this summer’s CMA Fest, and several dates opening for Big & Rich. Oh, and they were also nominated for a 2019 Nashville Industry Music Award (Best Country Duo). Fast forward a few months later and they’re back with their second single “Drive.”

Co-produced by Boris and Sean Spence and written by Oakes, Vikingstad and Susie Brown (former member of Jane Dear Girls), the catchy, toe-tappin’ single is not only available today across digital platforms, but the guys are set to premiere their debut music video today exclusively with The Country Note! - The Country Note

"Lockeland Announce New Single ‘Drive"

Rising country-music trio Lockeland consisting of best friends Mark, Michael and Kyndon are set to build on the hugely impressive success of their debut single ‘Til The Cows Come Home’ which dropped back in March of this year with their sophomore track ‘Drive’ set to drop on August 30th.
The three friends met in Nashville with Michael and Mark hailing from different spectrums of the “Empire State” whilst Kyndon comes from the “Land of Oz”. What brings these three guys together is their true love of life, humour and their mutual passion to create music that truly recalls pages from the past and captures memorable moments of the here and now.

Since sharing their debut single which landed on the Top 40 on the MusicRowCountry Breakout Chart earlier this year, Lockeland have appeared on the CMA spotlight stage, supported Big & Rich in Lebanon, Ohio and the Clay County Fair in Green Cove Springs, Florida and are a NIMA Nominee. This September they will arrive on UK shores for performances at the Long Road and Millport Festivals.

But before that, they will share their eagerly anticipated sophomore song ‘Drive’ on August 30th. This one is set to really launch their careers and put them on the map “as the next big thing” as they look to take their burgeoning musical career to the next level. - CelebMix

Bio

Maverick Magazine named Lockeland in the "Top Eight to Watch in 2020"! Lockeland is straight-up contemporary country with a throwback twist; the trio’s blend of talents complement one another naturally and instinctively. The group’s polished; easy-does-it dynamics, intricate three-part harmonies and simplistic, meaningful storylines are its signature. With a captivating and magnetic energy, Lockeland stakes its claim on the map to create a memorable live experience like no other. Since the launch of the trio’s debut single, “Til The Cows Come Home”, which landed in the Top 40 on the MusicRow Country Breakout Chart, Lockeland has appeared on the CMA Spotlight Stage (CMA Fest 2019), and opened for Big & Rich on two separate occasions in 2019. The group embarked on an international tour (canvassing England and Scotland) where the trio provided direct support for CAM at the Millport Country Music Festival and shared the stage at the Long Road Festival in Leicester, England with other artists such as Kip Moore, Josh Turner, LANCO, Morgan Evans & Logan Mize. Having performed also in York, and London, England, Lockeland has anchored a strong foothold in the UK country market.

Mark Vikingstad and Michael Boris come from different spectrums of New York and Kyndon Oakes hails from Kansas. The trio met in Nashville, to “lock the lands” in between and thus, Lockeland was formed. What brings these friends together is their love of life, humor, and the mutual passion to create music that recalls pages from the past and captures memorable moments of the here and now. They have released four singles since their debut of “Til’ The Cows Come Home” (written by Lockeland & Renn Anderson) in March 2019. “Drive” (written by Kyndon Oakes, Mark Vikingstad & Susie Brown) was released in August of 2019, and “These Hands” (written by Kyndon Oakes, Mark Vikingstad) was released in November 2019. “Keep Us Young” (written by Lockeland), was premiered by Billboard Magazine, and performed live on WSMV Today in Nashville, with the official digital release on February 14, 2020. Lockeland's most recent single, "Made For Mornings" (written by Lockeland & Renn Anderson), reached #33 on the MusicRow Country Breakout Chart. They will be releasing their brand new single, "Blackberry Whiskey" in April of 2021, and are also working on plans for an album, for the fall of 2021.
