Locnville is a new age group consisting of New York born twins, Andrew and Brian Chaplin who are indeed related to the late Charlie Chaplin.
Andrew and Brian started working their way up in the music industry from the tender of 8, playing gigs around town earning them numerous newspaper and TV coverage, the twins even ended up getting themselves an article in the number one hip hop magazine in the world, XXL. Some other coverage includes: The Showbiz Report, The Times, Pulse Magazine, News24, SABC 1 and 2, The Daily Voice, MK Channel etc.
The two later moved onto greater successes by getting involved with acclaimed producer, Gabi le Roux, and hence bringing III to life. III was made the first group in world history to release their music on the cell phone messaging platform, Mxit in 2006. On the first day of release Mxit recorded in excess of 60,000 downloads of the music. To date, over 450,000 tracks have been sold earning them double platinum status in local terms.
The Chaplins are also involved with music production and have worked with such names as BBC, ESPN and Mxit to name a few. Locnville now introduces their uplifting music in a form that has never been seen before, The VirtualCD. In partnership with Contra-Banned.com, the VirtualCD is the newest form of online music distibution on the market thus earning the Chaplins a date in history once again.
