Bio
Take a band of rock and roll musicians that have a love for straight-from-the heart roots music, add a country singer-songwriter, and shake. It's a simple recipe with a huge effect. It is the story of Loco and the Motives. When Garrett Heinrichs and John Tranum first crossed paths in the Texas Music scene, they quickly learned that they had a common vision for what they wanted to create in the world of music. Both coming from very country backgrounds, they set forth to try to create a sound that was their very own. Luckily, one of Heinrichs' long time friends and former band mates from his Fort Worth days, Chris Young, had just moved back to Austin looking for music to play. The addition of Young on drums gave the group a hard, powerfully straight forward edge that keeps the pulse, from the speakers, to the chest of the audience. After a short search, Grant Weaver was added in to the mix on electric/lead guitar. Weaver's "old-soul" approach on guitar is the perfect blend of worlds colliding....southwest country with a slight British rock-and-roll explosion. From the beginning guitar lick to the last phrase sung, you will be left knowing that the sound that is Loco and the Motives will be something that you'll come back for time and time again.
