Bio

Logan Mize was born and raised in the small farm town of Clearwater, Kansas where his entire family owns and operates the town's only grocery store, Mize's Thriftway. Logan was a standout athlete at Clearwater High School where he won all-state honors as a football player, a wrestler, and as a sprinter. Although Logan started learning the piano at the age of 8 and continued lessons well into his teens, music was never considered as anything more than a warm-up method for the Friday night football game. Logan will often joke, however, that Clearwater was probably the only school with a warm up tape playing Montgomery Gentry's "My Town", and Merle Haggard's "Fightin Side of Me".
After going on to play college football at Southern Illinois University, Logan picked up the guitar and started writing songs in his spare time. The summer before his Junior year at SIU he made a 4 song acoustic CD of some of the songs he had written to pass out to all his friends. The CD was a huge hit in his hometown, and all over the SIU Campus where you could drive to any given house party on a Saturday night and hear Logan's voice and guitar over the stereo accompanied by a few hundred drunk college kids singing at the top of their lungs along to every word. At that point football practice and school unfortunately began to take a backseat to the newfound music career. With trips to Nashville becoming frequent Logan made the decision midway through his Junior year to leave school and pursue music full time in Nashville, TN.
At the end of his first year in Nashville after working as a truck driver, bouncer at Coyote Ugly, a furniture deliveryman, and a DJ on a party bus amongst various other odd jobs, Logan landed a publishing deal at Wyoming Sky Music. In his first year he penned the song "Mexicoma" which can be a found on Bucky Covington’s “Live From Rockingham” EP.
Logan also had the opportunity to play his distant cousin's, and Pioneer of "The Bakersfield Sound" Billy Mize's 80th birthday party in Bakersfield, California where he performed one of Billy's hits "Who Will Buy The Wine" for the birthday audience including Billy himself, Merle Haggard, and various other Bakersfield Legends.
Logan Mize has been busy establishing himself as a writer and as an artist. His live shows are packed with high energy, infectious melodies, and organic lyrics that are sure to keep audiences coming back. Over the last few years Logan has opened up for Lady Antebellum, The Band Perry, Billy Currington, Easton Corbin, Colt Ford, Merle Haggard, The Charlie Daniels Band, Pat Green & Stoney LaRue.
Most recently Logan signed a publishing deal with Big Yellow Dog Music, one of the most successful Independent Publishers in Nashville. Who's recent successes include these #1's: "Need You Now"/Lady Antebellum; "Before He Cheats"/Carrie Underwood; & "River of Love"/George Strait
