When people think about Washington they don’t always think of music immediately, but that is beginning to change. Writing from a humanly conscious platform, Logan & Sitali’s lyrics are powerful and endearing. Each bring a different cultural background and mix of musical influences to the table, creating a truly unique, poetic sound.
In an age of frenzied cultural copulation and a global musical landscape that changes on almost a daily basis, they deftly incorporate a wide spectrum of musical influence – both traditional and innovative – into their sound. The inspiration for this collaboration was conceived by recording engineer Simon Pattee, in hopes to align two great minds-- and it worked better then anyone would have imagined.
"Not Giving Up" is a journey that connects the listener to music –past, present and future. In this recording, they are able to bring soul and harmony in an intimate acoustic setting. At a quick glance, “Not Giving Up” is a tale of a man trying to find himself amongst the mist of hard work and little success. He doesn’t have the answers, but he knows he can’t sit back and whittle away with time.
Logan has roots buried deep in to Washington’s history. His family owns the world-renowned restaurant Ben’s Chili Bowl. In 2005 he competed on American Idol and was a regional finalist. Truth be told, his original work if far better than any cover that can be performed by anyone. Upon first listen, he turns everyone’s head and has your attention until the end. His music seems as though he is speaking to you personally. Often times he actually is.
Sitali is a touring member of the internationally acclaimed Washington D.C. based Grammy winning group Thievery Corporation. Born to a U.S. Zambian diplomat, Sitali has traveled the world over and draws from a wide variety of musical influences. With Three albums under his belt, he is in the process of recording two more, all of which spread radically different genres. Rock, Punk, Reggae, Experimental, Jazz -there are no walls and there are no limits to what he is capable of
