"Garageband.com reviews of Resolve EP"

"Quick, edgy and down to the point. This song gets to it from the start and its very catchy...This band has obviously put a lot of effort into their vocals, which not a lot of bands do. That's probably what makes this band better then a lot of the other bands i've heard on garage band..."

"good choice of chords in the intro.the vocals are great with strong feeling and drive.the song has a great feel and strong hook.the guitar work rips nice breakdown riff.solid rhythm section to drive it home.great fkin song."

"Outstanding vocals and musicianship"

"...The first time I heard it, I wasn't sure what to think. But the second time it was like there was all this chaos and musical mayhem going on with some really passionate vocals then, suddenly, the listener is rammed, head first, into a deafening brick wall of pure silence. Too freaking cool..."

"Never heard anything quite like this. The beat is great. I like the feeling of the tune...."

"...theres more passion here than people may take notice..."

Catchy Catchy Catchy...
"Right off the bat the song is pretty catchy. Love the chord progression..."

"I've been listening to "emo" songs on here and none of them have come close until this one. Thank you. Good 6/8 feel and the progressions are catchy...Good screams and believe or not, I've listened to 7 or 8 songs in the "Emo" category and this has the first scream I've heard. Funny huh!"

"Has a pop feeling at first, but turns rock. I like it! Its a little bit of both. I liked the vocals. It really went with the song. It has a very unique beat to it."

"Could Emo be heavy metal for the 21st century? If so, we have a candidate. This song rocks with a purpose."

"...a song that's waiting for a legion of 15 year-old girls to sit in their room with their i-Pod on and get weepy eyed over it..."

"The vocals are stong and emotive...with enough guts to them to avoid falling over to the dark side of "whiny boy". The delivery is sharp, and inventive, and the melody line fits perfectly with this singer's abilities...this was the highlight of the track."

"POST HARDCORE THAT MAKES ME WANT TO HAVE SEX WITH YOU... OH GOD U GUYS ARE AMAZING THIS IS LIKE THE BEST SONG IVE EVER HEARD ITS EVEN BETTER THAN OHIO IS FOR LOVER LIKE YOU GUYS NEED TO BE SIGNED AND MAKING MILLIONS U DESERVE IT YOU ARE AWSOME. AMAZING JUST AMAZING IT BLOWS ME AWAY"

"everything in this song is amazing you guys rock..."

"This song was really interesting. I like the lyrics, vocals, drums, guitars, everything. I really like this song. One of the best songs I've reviewed so far!"

"There is some good talent here. I like the fact tht the singer is good, and when he screams he sreams in key !! Halelujah!"

"...I love this song. Especially the background screaming, awesome."

"Was pleasantly suprised. I actually found myself bobbing my head a little bit. It does a great job of drawing the listener in and keeping them there...it doesnt really sit still for long, which I like alot."

"Catchy wee chorus too..sing-a-long a t home if you know the words!"

"Everything is on point about this song...I get the feeling that you guys kill live. I can sense the pure emotion in you music and it's admirable. The hook is great and I imagine people really get moved by it...whoever is screaming in the background has totally mastered that art!" - Garageband.com

Bio

Lokata (LOW-kah-TUH) means to stop thinking about fate/destiny and live in the "now". You wont find it in a dictionary, because its not a real word. It's therefore also not a real meaning, but how we interpret it. (we made it up)

Lokata's music is comparable to that of bands like story of the year, killswitch engage, and the used. Drawing influences from the deftones, refused, metallica, nirvana and green day; its a mesh of ideas and attitude set to a punk rock backdrop.

Lokata began with 3 teenage friends. They auditioned singers, but couldnt find "that guy". An email to a friend who was doing the school thing at the time, brought him into the group after a few jam sessions. After auditioning a few bassists the band got frusterated and went into a hole. They wrote for 6 long months, meeting to record and write and record some more. After 30+ songs, the band decided to head back to the practice space and rock a few songs out. Auditioning still more bass players, Lokata couldnt seem to find "that other guy", until they realized there wasnt one out there. Their singer took on bass responsibilities and the quartet forged on. Completetly self sufficient, the band moved to a rehersal space and began regular recording and rehersals, in preparation for touring and releasing their first EP. No story ever ends that easily though. In early January a few days prior to a show supporting a national band, one of 3 friends quit. The band faltered. Make no mistake, there was talk of giving up. Team morale was at an all time low. BUT. After frustrating interviews, losing jobs, living at the studio, selling personal belongings to cover studio rent, the band struck some well deserved good luck. Recruiting Mat on drums and Jason on bass on the SAME day changed the face of Lokata.

Lokata's current plans include a busy show schedule, constant internet and street level promotion, and another recording at the end of this year.

Lokata is:
JAe : Singing / Screaming
Mike : Guitar / Backup Vocals
Ed : Lead GTR / droopy droors
Connell : Bass
Mat : Drums
