Bio
With a distinctive voice set to capture audiences' attention almost instantaneously, Lo-Key, a.k.a. Thomas McCollum, has been in the rap game for over 12 years. Born in Houston, Texas, he has since moved around, with stints in cities including Miami, Memphis, Atlanta and New York. He formed a group called the Scientists, where he recorded with Houston producer Crazy C. This led to appearances on Lez Monie's album and Big Mello's album. He received a big break in 1995 when he signed a record deal with Sauvé House. His long repertoire includes collaboration with 8ball and MJG, Crime Boss, South Circle, and Tela. Lo-Key has toured all over the country with Tela, and in1997 his group left Suave House and signed with Rap A Lot, where the group changed their name to "The Hoodlums." The Hoodlums then recorded four songs on the platinum selling album "My Homies" with Scarface. After several years without a solo album, Lo-Key decided to leave the rap game and moved to Atlanta. After years in Atlanta, he decided to return to the rap game and move back to Houston where he hooked up with platinum producer John Bido and Record Noize Records to work on his first solo LP "From The Ground Up" which is scheduled for release in the Fall of 2006.
