Lokomotiv

Lokomotiv

BandRockMetal

Old-school influenced heavy rock n' roll with a dark edge and modern flavor. Topped with powerful, melodic vocals that are not 'emo' or 'whiny'. Solid rythym section with tasteful guitar solos. Lyrics delve into personal and worldly issues in Dylan-esque style.

Biography

Formed in the Fall of 2001 as a power trio, Lokomotiv has evolved into it's present and most lethal form with the addition of Aguirre and Artadi in early and mid 2004 respectively. The band is mainly influenced with hard rock music of all eras starting from the mid-60's. From Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Black Sabbath, Thin Lizzy, Rush, AC/DC and the Ramones of the classic rock and punk rock era, Judas Preist, Metallica, Iron Maiden and Soundgarden from the metal and grunge years to the modern rock of Audioslave, Velvet Revolver, the Mooney Suzuki and everything in between. This wide range of hard rock inlfuences is what sets Lokomotiv apart from other bands who do not go far back into rock history for inspiration. It also lends to the fact that Lokomotiv's brand of rock music is multi-dimensional and therefore sounds comfortably current with that one foot steeped in the grandiose majesty of rock's past. Experiencing Lokomotiv's aural onslaught can be compared to a runaway train...either riding one or getting run over by it. Get on or get out of the way.
