Bio

Kent Stephenson founded Lokoyokol about 12 years ago.Kent is a gifted singer/songwriter with a style all his own.He is also an accomplished guitarist & energetic performer.Kent's foot stomping dance tunes never fail to bring the folks out on the floor. His ballads are at times tender & lovely & at times haunting & ethereal. His songs of the Great Plains are down right cinematic in their nature.Kent will surely someday be known as one of the best writers of our time.

Ron Parker is a veteran of the San Francisco scene from the 60's.He got his start playing in "hippy" bands around 1967 on the S.F. Peninsula & more recently in blues bands in the central valley.Ron is a strong vocalist & solid bassist. His clean simple bass lines & almost metronomic sense of time form the foundation for the Lokoyokol sound.Ron is the newest member of the band on board for a little less than a year.

Matt Pearson is an extraordinary drummer! He plays with an almost reckless abandon while somehow at the same time staying right on the beat & "in the pocket" at all times.Matt has played for years with many of the best local bands in Humboldt County.Since joining the band last year he has taken the Lokoyokol sound to a whole new level.

Steve Carvalho got his start years ago playing in Bay Area Metal & Rock bands. He is an amazing guitarist!Steve is very versatile & is able to meld his Metal & Hard Rock roots flawlessly into the Lokoyokol sound creating a very distinct style all his own.His soaring solos are at times reminiscent of some of the all time great guitar heroes while still maintaining his own unique sound.Steve has been a member of Lokoyokol for a little over two years.
