Bio

Lola is a Blues & R&B singer/keyboardist,blessed with a dynamic voice, her own patented keyboard style,& an intense, high energy stage presence.
She's been igniting stages nationally & internationally for more than a decade now.

Born in New York and raised in California,Lola combines traditional blues with hard-edged R&B to create her own brand of SOUL music.
It was in Mobile,Alabama that she began sitting in with her father's Funk band, playing trumpet & drums before switching to keyboards.
Stevie Wonder,Donnie Hathaway,Jimmy Smith,& Joe Sample were her main piano influences, along with her father's favorite,Amos Milburn. She worked her way through college playing in three different Mobile churches, absorbing a huge dose of Gospel influence that you can hear every time she sings.Other vocal inspirations include Aretha Franklin,Bonnie Raitt,B.B.King,& again,...Stevie Wonder.

After college,Lola played keyboard with the late Soul legend Johnnie Taylor, touring across country & learning first hand how to work a crowd into a frenzy.
In 1996,after winning a nationwide talent contest on BET,she was signed by Andre Harrell to a Motown recording contract, but the project remained unreleased because of Harrell's departure from the company.
Since sriking out on her own as a band leader,Lola has shared the stage with The Pointer Sisters,Bobby Womack,Bobby"Blue"Bland,Betty Wright,& Chubby Checker.

She is presently signed to Wilbe Records, owned by Stax great William Bell,& has released a new cd entitled"Give Her What She Wants".
