Feeling a bit camera shy

A solo musician that originally hails from Baltimore, Maryland, Lola Mullen can be spied playing bass, aspirin-bottle shaker, vibraslap, and her voicebox for local bands when not making her own music. Utilizing her love for rich harmonies, Lola grew up singing in choirs, operas, and in small groups around Maryland. After relocating to central Virginia, she found her home in the Folk/Alt-Country vein, being greatly influenced by Patsy Cline and the soulful Candi Staton. Comparisons are also found in modern artists such as Joni Mitchell, Neko Case and Lucinda Williams. She accompanies herself live with guitar and in recordings with a variety of instruments, but voice will always be the favorite of them all.
