""Most mature, original, soulful and honest""

"Lola Parks is definitely the most mature, original, soulful and honest fusion/folk act I've had the pleasure to witness. Shame on media-types who miss this brilliant act." - Numfortably Review by Barry Newman - Cosmic Debris Musicians Magazine

Bio

LOLA PARKS is a Vancouver-based singer-songwriter who has been turning heads for years. From fronting a 17-piece big band to co-founding and being sole lyricist for original folk rock group, Sonnenblume, she has staged her own show for over a decade. A nationally-recognized multi-award winner, including “Most Outstanding Musician – Vocal Jazz" and “Female Songwriter of the Year,” her 2011 release (Here) garnered three Vancouver Island Music Awards nominations and continues to receive international and playlist attention. Her music is best described as boho chic soul folk carried by dangerous lyrics, hypnotic grooves and a seductive voice.

LOLA is a female Indigenous Canadian musical artist compelled to create, cultivate and share her art. Her mission is to give and be a voice: cultural and social brokerage through music and words. A 12th generation Canadian of Montagnais, Ukrainian, French and British ancestry, her French Canadian and Montagnais heritage deeply influence her songwriting and the music she creates.

Over the past 20+ years, she has created a fiercely independent musical history that includes numerous studio session recordings, musical collaborations and performing around the world. She has led several Western Canada tours, shared billing with numerous Grammy and Juno award winners, had TV/film/ radio placements including CBC radio’s new “Early Edition” theme song. She is about to release her 5th studio album, No Apologies, off which single “Hey Hey” has already aired on multiple CBC programs, was the feature track of 2019 BC Culture Days (Vancouver) and soon on APTN (Talking Stick 2020 promo).
