Lolita Dark is a 6-piece bilingual rock group of musical chameleons, fronted by dynamically-ranged female vocalist/composer/guitarist Rayko.

Lolita Dark has recently signed a 5-year record deal with Spark Japan, for East Asia, and   their debut CD "Citizen's Revenge" will be released on 07/06/16 through Universal Records Japan.
Lolita Dark made their first international live debut in Japan in late spring of 2016, kicking off their tour at the world famous Shinkiba Coast as a part of "Cure World Visual Festival", sharing the stage with several national acts.

Lolita Dark is an epic rock band with roots in Southern California and Japan, formed in
2012. Their sound weaves together crunching guitar riffs, progressive baselines, lush
harmonies and complex melodic structures in songs that reflect both the angst and optimism of an increasingly interconnected world.

Fronted by Shibuya-born vocalist/composer/guitarist Rayko, their sound and visuals depict a world of light and dark, East meets West, and past meets present.

The core of Lolita Dark is formed by members of Los Angeles rock band Dig Jelly –
vocalist and guitarist Rayko, bassist Rain Balen and drummer Joey Felix, and guitarist Patrick Cabrera. After the departure of Lolita Dark's former member May, Japanese singer/songwriter K-Lu joined the band as co-singer/keyboardist. After Lolita Dark's record deal signing for East Asia, co-singer/ guitarist Christopher Fuentes joined the band.

Upon release of their first album “Tokyo Status” in 2012, Lolita Dark made their sensational debut at United States' number 1 Japanese Pop Culture Convention "Anime Expo" at Los Angeles Convention Center. “Tokyo Status” featured a wide range of intensely personal, yet universal meditations on love, addiction, promise, and despair. It is a blazing new territory influenced with Shibuya glam meets European symphonic rock, with a touch of American metal to establish their epic sound. Lolita Dark's debut explored the themes of “Salvation, Redemption and Sanctuary” and met topics like the aftermath of the Great Tohoku Earthquake head-on with a call to “answer the silent cries of a strong heart hidden behind a smiling face.”

Backed by the already established following of Dig Jelly, Lolita Dark has continuously performed sold-out shows at venues from The Viper Room to House of Blues, countless anime conventions throughout the east and west coast as a guest of honor, and at bi-monthly event in Los Angeles produced by Rayko called “Tokyo Status”.

Lolita Dark has been continuously chosen as the opening act for the big
guests from Japan such as Loudness, Gacharic Spin (Universal Music),
BACK-ON (Avex), and D (Avex, Universal Music). Lolita Dark's second album, “Queen's Decade” was released in spring 2014, and as they performed at Tekko 2014 (Pittsburgh, PA) opening for Gacharic Spin, followed by Zenkaikon 2014 (Lancaster, PA) they completely sold out their first 3000 copies within a month.

Lolita Dark was invited by NAMM 2015 to do a panel to explain how
they captured the niche market through their music and visual, and
became almost an overnight success in the independent music scene.

Rayko has been composing songs since she learned how to walk. Various genres of her music is heard even outside of Lolita Dark. i.e Amazon Prime number 1 hit series "The Man in The High Castle" ("Until We Meet Again" 2nd episode), feature film "The Wolves of Savin Hill" featuring Kurt Fuller and Michael Messee ("Forgiveness" ending theme), "Surf Girls" ("In Your House" MTV network), "Undressed" (Broken Trust" MTV network)... She also wrote "Wounded Angel", a theme song for Anime California in Los Angeles. Rayko is currently collaborating with a Grammy winning producer/engineer Isha Erskine.

With their Japan release right around the corner, there is so much to look forward to in Lolita Dark's future.
