London Bureau

After their first show at The Hangar in Red Hill, invitations from promoters with support slots started rolling in. The phone was ringing hot with requests to play shows at all of Brisbane's hottest venues.

With crowds growing at each gig, London Bureau found that word of mouth in Brisbane was securing more and more punters to every show. Their loyal following began to grow until they found themselves thrilling large crowds on all through the week.

Unfortunately, with the loss of their drummer around the beginning of 2010 London Bureau had to take a break. It was a short hiatus as the band reformed with a new line-up. The new London Bureau is Elliot Schoemaker on guitar and vocals, Fiona Schoemaker on bass and vox and Julian Roberts on drums and vox.

With the change came a move away from the twangy, garage blues and into the realms of leather-clad attitude and wall-of-sound power of the likes of BRMC or Von Bondies. This grunt backs the pop hooks and harmonies you might well hear on a QOTSA or Band of Skulls album.

The revamped London Bureau took some time to concentrate on determining their sound, writing new material whilst readying themselves for the recording of their first EP. The EP has been recorded and is now in the pipeline for release in October 2011.

Having written and played together for over 20 years, siblings Elliot and Fiona have no problem finding new material. Matched by Julian's razor sharp grooves and killer harmonies, there is so much London Bureau has left to say.
