"Lonely the Seabird, From the Top of the Stairs (Peach Pit 2006)"

Lonely The Seabird’s From The Top Of The Stairs can best be described as an indie rock compilation album from the mid-1990s. Due to the fact that this band has not assigned anyone the title of lead singer, it has created a community where various influences are brought together and the end result is a successful debut. ‘Jackson Browne’, the album’s opening track, just might be a lost gem from Guided by Voices' Vampire on Titus. From there Lonely The Seabird goes into a rotation of sorts with lo-fi acoustic ballads, alternative country rockers, and a few good ol’ fashioned noisy indie tunes. From The Top Of The Stairs is another great album for Cincinnati rock and roll.

"MidPoint Music Festival Revs Up: Thursday"

We then caught a few songs from local newcomers Lonely the Seabird at Crush next door. They played an energetic set (switching between three lead singers) of jangly, somewhat rootsy Indie Pop and seemed to be having a blast.

"MPMF Thursday"

What if Munch's paintings were actually photographs? What if factories just made other factories? What if your knees bent the other way? What if everyone knew the Colonel's secret recipe? What if there really is a Book of Love? What if everyone's 15 minutes of fame included a Devo soundtrack? What if trees made the wind blow? What if tinfoil hats really worked?

"Good Times"

The other 1/20th of a show was last night in Newport, KY at the Southgate House. We shared the bill with several great Cincy-area bands to benefit LINKS, Lonely Instruments for Needy Kids (if you’ve got an instrument just laying around, you should donate it). Not only was this a great cause, but the show was a Wilco tribute, so all the bands on the bill performed Wilco cover songs.

It was a great opportunity to meet and hear alot of good area bands, but it does make it tough to know how much you really like their stuff. You can really only judge them by their song choice and how well they pulled it off, since they aren’t doing their own material. A few of the bands I personally enjoyed were the for Algernon, The Stapletons, Lonely the Seabird and Tonefarmer. - Dayton Daily News

"Episode 1"

The first show closes out with another Cincy band, Lonely the Seabird and an acoustic version of their ode to modern technology, “Cellphone Cowboy.” You can catch Lonely the Seabird at The Mad Frog in Cincinnati with Innerstate on November 10th.

Bio

it's hoppy it's rocky and rolly music made by people who are cool. It's rad and once this old lady was dancing to it at a show!

She was too old to dance so they told her to sit down.
