It wasn't long after I started speaking coherently that I started singing. All through school I was in choir, and then when I was 15 I started teaching myself to play guitar to add accompaniment to the songs I was constantly writing. My biggest influences are Ani Di Franco and Melanie Safka, though everything I listen to (which is a little bit of everything from Amos Lee to Cradle of Filth) I'm sure has had some affect on my music style.
I try to make all of my music as real and genuine as I possibly can. If I feel there is anything insincere about a piece I am working on I will abandon that project and move on to another song. I think that music should be real and have meaning and not just be some music with senseless lyrics over it.
