Self-Promotion Spotlight: Looking Glass wars

I'm searching through the Self Promotion forum, and I barely clicked on any threads. Why? Because bands SUCK at picking band names. Looking Glass Wars ... that one isn't so bad, I think to myself.

Looking Glass Wars in a five-piece atmospheric indie rock number from New York. They fill the gaps and holes with full-bodied instrumentation, jazzy guitar tangents (see "Love Someone"), and hearty vocals that casually remind me of a pre-TDAGARIM Jesse Lacey. Singer Brendan Rivera is classy and controlled, the percussion is on point and bouncy, and the keys create a deepening, suspicious effect (see "Endormi Dans La Chambre"). The more I listened, the more I was convinced.

Out now is their full-length The Musician (available on iTunes). This band's got something special, and it's not because their band name is better than average.

"Absolute 100"

News posts and song streams. RSS feeds and webisodes. We swim in a digital ocean of recommendations - the music and us. Here at AbsolutePunk.ne t, we like to start the waves and then float in them. This is why we are back with our second installment of The Absolute 100, an annual collection of our favorite lesser known bands. Below you will find a centennial of really great acts. Some of them may be fresh to the ears, and some of them may be old news to your keen web browsing. Either way, we hope that from all the bands that clutter these interwebbed harbors, you'll find a precious handful from these Absolute 100.

Why We Like: A band with deep, complex album concepts to complement their rumbling dark rock, Looking Glass Wars are mysterious. Their jazzy (but heavy) guitars and bull-headed basslines aren't here for small talk.
