Bio

Emerging in the summer of 2003, loomer has already made a strong impact on the growing Central Jersey music scene. Last winter they released their debut album, take one, and its swirling guitars, dark bass, and pumping rhythms have proven that "behind their unique aesthetic is an equally distinct sound." With the upcoming release of loomers second full-length album, tentatively entitled elizabeth street, loomer is working hard to make this album all it can be.
With passionate vocals provided by Jason Fruhschein, loomer has been able to prove to themselves, and all those who have heard their innocently fresh, yet dark sound that music can still be felt. With Ryan Brady beside him on the stage providing a dark, heavy bass line and a unique style of heartfelt vocals, Jason and Ryan make up the vocal core of loomer.
With every tear of his bow or gentle brush of his fingers against the six strings of his deep blue guitar, guitarist Ray Duer brings a melodic, shadowy roar of pure sound and emotion to the stage. His unique song-writing style and diverse collection of influences has led to the fresh sound that loomer has today. With younger brother James Duer or as he is now known, little bear, offering a unique style of ambient cymbal roars and snare hits, loomer is a complete group of dedicated musicians.
With influences including such renowned bands as My Bloody Valentine, Slowdive, Lush, and Ride, loomer has chosen to push beyond the traditional sounds of shoegaze. Rather then recreate the beautiful sounds that Kevin Shields made years ago, loomer is making an unprecedented push to combine the indie sounds of such bands as The Red House Painters, The Flaming Lips, The Clientele, and Radiohead with the aforementioned shoegaze legends.
loomers dark, sincere lyrics written by Ryan Brady and Ray Duer offer the final addition to their sound, giving an honest and passionate touch to their overall heartfelt sound.
loomer will continue to do shows in and around Central New Jersey as they promote their new material. So come check out what it's like on the road less traveled, the road where you can feel the music again...
