Loop Alley

Several years ago, 'gear freak' and multi-instrumentalist/producer Nathan Drohm, born in Drenthe and raised in Groningen, a determined and curious musician, meets Singer/composer/theater director Libbie , the originally Flemish, happy, nonchalant, and ever-moving singer. Nathan's love and enthusiasm for technology and equipment infects Libbie and they start performing as a duo in 2011, using a sampler, loopers, effects pedals, and instruments. The repeating parts and melodies, the use of short samples, and effects form the basis for their music.

Early 2015 sees the addition to Loop Alley of drummer Elmer Bergstra (also a gear freak) and bassist and former fellow student Ruud Vleij. The musicians, who are also friends, share the same love for music from the eighties and nineties.

In the following months, Nathan and Libbie together produce the EP, and Nathan continues mixing it at his home studio in the north of Spain.
The sun and the environment are an extra source of inspiration and at the last minute they add several powerful synth and guitar parts.
The end result is chock full of energetic sounds, guitar riffs reminiscent of Simple Minds and The Police, melancholy lyrics about everyday struggles accompanied by hopeful melodies and sounds.

End of September 2015, the first single 'You & I' will see it’s radio release.
