"Sins Of The Loose Buttons – AM Arcade"

Sins Of The Loose Buttons is fairly new to me as I just discovered them at the 2013 Northside Festival. After seeing them put on a great set at Muchmore’s, I just had to download their debut EP AM Arcade. The EP opens up with The Door Man which features some great drumming at the outset which leads into some nice vocals.

The second track is Feeling Like The Young which has a much more relaxed sound compared to the opener. It starts off but slowly picks up as the track goes along. Southbound is up next & it happens to be my second favorite track on the EP with its catchy guitar riffs & rough vocals at the start.

Now we get to my favorite track on the EP, I Love Lucy which was my favorite song performed at the aforementioned set. This mid-tempo song has a great feel to it as it showcases the different elements & talents of all 4 members of the band. To be honest, this song alone is what motivated me to write a review in the first place as it is just that good.

The EP ends with Sahara, arguably the most mellow song of the bunch. It was a great choice for a closer as it neatly ties the whole EP together yet leaving the listeners wanting to hear more. AM Arcade is definitely worth a listen so make sure to do so.

"2013 CBGB Festival INN’s Interview with Loose Buttons"

On Saturday, we chatted with Loose Buttons, a band who approached us on Friday at Landmark Sunshine Cinema. They played an acoustic showcase in Times Square (I recorded some of their set) and plugged in for an electric set at the National Underground on Saturday Night. The boys also performed at CMJ the next week; I highly encourage you all to take a listen to the New York City natives. Follow them on Twitter and Facebook! - Indie News At Noon

"Sins of the Loose Buttons release EP + headlines Bklyn Bowl on 07.16"

A band that left the majors to do things their own way back in 2011, Sins of the Loose Buttons has a huge amount of material collected over the past couple years. And all of it is about to come out on their debut EP 'Am Arcade.' The sometimes hard rock, sometimes funk-driven alt rock quartet will be releasing their debut on June 2nd, and planning on celebrating the release with a trip to the Northside Festival on June 16th and headlining Brooklyn Bowl on July 16th. Check them out and watch their new video for 'I Love Lucy' here. - The Deli Magazine

"Head In The Clouds: The 20 Best SoundCloud Tracks Of The Week"

So what if we already told you what our favorite 30 tracks of the year are? And our 15 favorite albums of the year? This week is this week. It’s a whole new ballgame. That new Mirror Kisses song came out, Vic Mensa went in another direction and Zola Jesus did big pop. Now there’s nothing left to do but listen. - CMJ

"Song Premiere: Loose Buttons - "Two Wolves""

Loose Buttons might be young, but the Manhattan rockers are hardly strangers to the music scene. Having released their debut EP AM Arcade just last year, the band’s second EP Damage Gallery is set for release in September. In anticipation of the release, they’ve shared its first track “Two Wolves.”

Frontman Eric Nizgretsky, Zack Kantor and Manny Silverstein played their first Manhattan club gigs in 2007, at the early age of 14. And having recruited drummer Adam Holzberg, another New York native, at University of Miami’s Frost School of Music, there’s no doubt that the 21-year-old musicians have a passion for their craft.

Since releasing AM Arcade, the band has headlined New York City’s coveted Brooklyn Bowl, played festivals including their hometown CMJ Music Marathon and Northside Festival and supported Grizzly Bear and My Morning Jacket in Times Square.

Damage Gallery will be released via the band’s own Moon Crawl Records and you can listen to their dance-inducing track “Two Wolves” above. - Paste Magazine

Bio

To the untrained eye, Loose Buttons may seem like newcomers to the music industry. After all, it is pretty rare that a group of 21-year-old college students just 12 months removed from their debut EP can say that they’ve headlined New York City’s 600-capacity Brooklyn Bowl, sold out 300-capacity venues on the road, played some of the biggest music festivals the east coast has to offer (including the CMJ Music Marathon and the past two Northside Festivals), played in Times Square with Grizzly Bear and My Morning Jacket, teamed up with Amnesty International in Washington D.C. and had one of their most-acclaimed tracks streamed over 15,000 times on social media. But it's also not every day that a group so young has so much experience playing live in one of the world's biggest music markets. Lead Singer Eric Nizgretsky, Lead Guitarist Zack Kantor and Bass Player Manny Silverstein all played their first Manhattan club gigs in 2007, when they were each just 14 years old. Starting early certainly has its benefits, as the guys had the chance to play legendary NYC clubs like Kenny's Castaways, The Bitter End and the Knitting Factory, as well as big rooms like the Gramercy Theatre and Santos Party House, years before they were old enough to attend them as patrons. In the fall of 2011, Manny and Eric went off to the University of Miami to attend the Frost School of Music, where they recruited drummer Adam Holtzberg, another native New Yorker, to join forces with them. With Zack still up north at Wesleyan University, the band recorded their debut EP, AM Arcade, in a Postal Service-like fashion, sending tracks back and forth from dorm rooms in Coral Gables up to Middletown, Connecticut. Finally in June 2013, it was complete, and the guys followed the EP up with that legendary night at Brooklyn Bowl in New York, and a sold-out gig at 300-capacity Tobacco Road in Miami,  which developed into quite the supportive second home in the two years prior. The success of the EP led to an east coast tour and a few festival stops, but Loose Buttons was  quickly back to the studio to create Damage Galley, their follow-up EP, which will be self-released through their own Moon Crawl Records imprint in September 2014. Loose Buttons has surely done an impressive amount for a group of guys barely old enough to drink, but look for the stakes to get even higher on Damage Gallery, as Loose Buttons aims to show the rest of the world what New York, Miami and the east coast have known for years- that the boys of Loose Buttons will keep you boogying along for years to come.
