"Looweeze de'Ath: Sydney"

“The most fly performance I have been lucky enough to witness. Australia’s Looweeze de’Ath stole the night with her humorous style and perfect delivery”
Darren Stanbridge, Hitstate Music Press, Sydney Australia - Hitstate Music Press, Sydney

"Looweeze de'Ath: Melbourne"

“The passionate performance of de’Ath will brighten your day. Immeasurably.” - Inpress Magazine, Melbourne

"looweeze de'Ath: Perth"

“Looweeze de’Ath plays girly pop folk with an American Beautyesque bite. She shut up the rowdy kids at this rock concert with entertaining and sweetly confronting songs. She is far more controlled, intelligent and interesting than her eastern states counterpart Diana Ahaid. “Love Handles for President” was an excellent witty anti image song. Very cool. In fact all of her songs and indeed this young performer are very cool.” - Hype Magazine, Perth

"looweeze de'Ath: Sydney"

She might be armed with only an acoustic guitar and a remarkably versatile voice, but Looweeze de’Ath is no po-faced folky, despite picking up a lot of work on the festival circuit. Far from it. Looweeze has one of those voices that, like, say, someone like Kate Bush, allows her to throw a melody around to be playful with a song. But she can also rock it out when she wants to which must have helped her win Western Australia’s top Solo Performer Award last year and also on the brilliant “Catherine Snapped” record that captures this young performers energy and humour perfectly." - Drum Media, Sydney

Bio

"Looweeze de'Ath is an artist not to be missed. How is it that something so sweet has so much bite?"

Hype Magazine, Perth Australia

looweeze de'Ath is one of Western Australias most unique musical talents, writing and performing on detuned guitar, banjo and keys. Her live show is a dynamic blend of folk, americana and alt pop that exposes her dark and often humorous take on the world.

looweeze is literally a cross between an artist and an outlaw (on one side of her family English poet Matthew Arnold and on the other Convict William Bufton - Number 1032).

de’Ath got her first big break in the music industry by way of the popular Australian soap opera, Neighbours. Tragically killed off in a shark attack/liposuction story arc and with a Logie in her pocket (the Australian equivalent of an Academy Award, and not necessarily hers) In 2011, looweeze swapped the bright lights of the television studio for the brighter lights of Nashville where started writing songs for television, ironically including TV shows back home like Neighbours!

in 2011 she performed at the International Folk Alliance Festival in Memphis.  In 2012, back in Nashville, looweeze had generated unexpected, overwhelming and anxiety inducing "buzz" after performing at the Blue Bird and unleashing several tracks from her 2012 recording in Austin produced by her beloved mentor Mike Stewart. Following this looweeze returned to Memphis to assist the Folk Alliance with the 2012 Festival in Memphis, playing in hotel rooms until the wee hours.

looweeze returned to Australia in 2012 to change visas intending to return to the States to record her full length album, but unexpectedly stayed down under for...LOVE. How predictable and unhinging to all that singing and flirting in Nashvegas!  The music remained within her, she returned to Nashville in 2013 for the Americana Music Festival and to Austin in 2014 for SXSW.

in February 2015 looweeze returns to the USA for a six month stint.

looweeze has extensively toured the UK with Adrianne Gonzalez (The Rescues) and performed at London venues including The Borderline supporting Joe Purdy and The Green Note.

Back home in Australia she has been presented West Australian Music Industry Awards including “Best Female Guitarist”, and nominated as “Most Popular Acoustic Act”, “Most Popular Female Instrumentalist” and “West Australian Song of the Year” for her song Makes It No Better.
