"HipHop Weekly/A3C Interview"

12 years ago, fans of hip hop descended on Atlanta for the chance to see all their favorite artists in one place. The event was called the A3C. A chance to showcase music and artists from all three coasts, the festival has grown into a “must be at” event. Not just shows, the A3C includes everything from informative panels to screenings of short films and documentaries. The event has become a “must visit” for music fans across the globe.

Since then, the organizers have expanded the event from 3 to 5 days. This means more music, panels and chaos for fans and artists alike. If you wanted to see your favorite artist, inquire about a brand or just network with like minded individuals, then this is your week.

Since 2013, Hip Hop Weekly has been on the scene at A3C, capturing the sights, sounds and excitement of one of hip hop’s most revered festivals.

Our showcase this year was nothing less than exciting. In addition to performances from nationally recognized names including Snootie Wild, AR-ab, Scotty ATL and more, we also gave the stage up to rising acts, such as Lor Choc HD, who sat down for an exclusive interview with HHW.

HHW: How did you change your stage name?

Lor Choc HD: I took my fathers name [which is] Big Choc. Lor means “lil” and the HD mean “hopes and dreams.

HHW: What made want to pursue rapping as career?

Lor Choc: I ain’t [didn’t] really had this planned. I wanted to become a computer engineer. One day my home-girl recorded me and the video went viral on twitter. I didn’t expect it to go viral and I didn’t have any intentions on it [the video] going viral. It just happened out of nowhere.

HHW: Who do you look up to in the industry and why?

Lor Choc HD: The person that really inspires me is India Arie. I look up to Kevin Gates. I watch a lot of his interviews and follow his career a lot and Drake.

HHW: Are you preparing for an album?

Lor Choc HD: I just dropped my first mix tape called “Lor Choc: Worth The Wait”

HHW: What type of sound could we expect from that?

Lor Choc HD: Its all-different types of stuff on there. Caribbean [reggae] beat on the intro. I did a remix to Serani ‘s song ” No Games”. Some trap songs and few tracks for the ladies. The mix tape should be uploaded on Spinrilla as soon as possible. - HHW
