Bio

It all started with a word and the universe was created. The stars exploded to create a prolific emcee with musical skills to electrify spirits. The heavens bless the earth with vocalist/lyricist/producer Corey Hampton in 1977. He hails from the northern Virginia suburbs just outside the nation’s capitol with a refreshing hiphop/soul vibration that is guaranteed to rock the nation for generations.
Corey is the first artist to debut out of the lyrical unit known as ‘L.O.R.’, which stands for ‘Lords of Rhythm & Rhyme’. He is the musical genius behind the two-man lyrical cipher, which also includes rapper ‘Maztifari’. Corey’s music represents the next generation of hiphop that infuses soulful vocal harmonies with intricate rhymes over heavy-hitting hiphop drumbeats. His lyrics express the aspirations of an individual that is committed to up-lifting the mind, body, and spirit to level of the most high. He sings melodies of inspirational thoughts that effortlessly seep into the listener’s consciousness leaving them with an elevated level of self confidence. Love is the universal theme that plays constant through-out his music.
As a producer, Corey strives to compose music to make it nearly impossible not to become one with groove. His musical talent extends beyond the average beat-maker. He started playing drums at the tender age of 4 and later picked-up playing the keyboard and experimenting with the guitar. He also studied the alto sax through-out grade school till graduation. But when it comes to composing a track, Corey likes to work in a virtual world of unlimited instruments powered by his computer software and keyboard.
After recording his ‘Lord Creator’ Demo back in 1997, it has been a constant struggle to break into a fickle industry that rarely shines light on inspirationally conscious hiphop. But having mastered both lyrical and instrumental aspects of composition, he brings a refreshing blast of true hip-hop/soul integrity and flava' back into today's overly-commercialized ‘Bling-Bling’ market.
