Lorcan James is a new Irish artist based in Dublin. Having travelled in the U.S. he ended up living in Mexico for a time. Writing and performing in Mexico would have a lasting influence on his music. He returned to Ireland to record his debut EP. It was a natural progression to draw from the rhythmical feel of South American Pop/Rock, blending it seamlessly with his U.S. styled songwriting. Ger McDonnell (of U2 fame) stepped in as engineer on the EP. It was mixed between February and March of this year in London by Dave Pemberton who has worked with Kasabian and Groove Armada.
The resulting recordings have already been described by Safta Jaffery (CEO of Taste Music) as having 'U.S. radio potential'.
With successful gigs at Dublin's Whelans and Crawdaddy, Lorcan James and his band have proven to be an exciting new live act. They are kick-starting the summer with The Body & Soul Festival in June 2010.
