Bio

MCs Big Buxx and Rudy Jackson formed Lordz of the Fly after an extended period of experimental collaboration, the most notable of these being 'Littlehorse' with seminal Sydney DJ Nick Toth, an effort which saw them garner widespread acclaim and support gigs for such luminaries as Black Eyed Peas and Che Fu.
Big Buxx (aka The Buckaroo) is from Campbelltown in Sydney’s suburbs. International travel, extensive experience rhyming in clubs and battles and unique sense of humour have shaped him into an MC with unbeatable rhythmic skills and content that ranges form caustic social commentary to hilarious story telling.
Rudy Jackson has an extensive and impressive resume including 2000-2003 touring nationally with Christine Anu, and a tour of the US in 2003 with Danielle Spencer.
After honing their skills as MCs touring and in the studio, the two decided to branch out as a duo and soon after hooked up with producer – Buchman (Baggsmen) Lordz provided the vocals for the Baggsmen radio hits ‘Hi Top Days’ and ‘Blown Angels’.
The release of the ‘Lordz of the Fly EP’ in late’04 saw Lordz start to hit both stores and the live scene, regularly surprising audiences with far from typical beats and style. Breaking free from ‘Aussie Hip Hop’ as a category- where fat rhymes and syncopation combine with soulful melodic hooks to become a musical style that does not fit the Australian Hip Hop pidgeon hole.
Over 2004 & 2005 Lordz supported international artists such as Hazadus (NZ), DJ Shortkut and dj wHat?! of the World Famous Beat Junkies, DJ Revolution (Sway & Tech’s Wake Up Show/MTV) from California and Ceplh Titled & Apathy from New York. They shared the stage with the UK’s Mystro, Sarah Love, but it was The Great Escape Festival at Newington Armoury, where they developed their fanbase by rocking the stage with their new all star live 4 piece.
Lordz of the Fly recently returned from a heavy touring stint where they reached audiences from Brisbane, Gold Coast, Melbourne, Geelong, and of course Sydney. Over ’05 and into ’06 Lordz blazed onto the asian stage playing Japan, Bali and Jakarta in Indonesia.
With the album SYMPTOMATIC out now , collaborations are in effect. LOTF linking with Chicago MC Diverse, MC Kye (Wicked Beat Sound System, Budspells), Hyjak (Hyjak&Torcha) , NFAMOUS (1200 Techniques) and Sydney’s new funk roots crew Botanics has turned over some amazing new material.
