Bio

According to German myth, there was once a beautiful young maiden, named Lorelei, who threw herself headlong into the river in despair over a faithless lover. Upon her death, she was transformed into a siren and could be heard singing on a rock along the Rhine River. Her hypnotic voice lured sailors to their death.

Our legend began with a talented young boy named Christopher Lee Hall. He grew up in a musical family and picked up his first guitar at age 5, writing his own songs by age 14. He soon formed the rock band, Dead of Winter, and recorded his first EP, compliments of Frank Black (Pixies). They opened for Stone Temple Pilots and Alice in Chains and played sold out shows across the country, which garnered major label interest. He later honed his production and engineering skills so he could record and produce his own music. Christopher spent 6 years recording all genres of music for local Seattle bands, and together with co-writer/singer, Dean Johnson, wrote over 100 songs.

He eventually formed the band, Regarding Emma. They were signed to Interscope Records and continued to write and record more hit material. Regarding Emma was fortunate to work with top musicians and producers, such as Brian Young (Fountains of Wayne, Posies), Mike Baker (Colbie Calliet), Michael Urbano (Cracker, Smash Mouth, Sheryl Crow), Reto Peter (Green Day), Kipper (Sting), Joe Bass (Posies) and Chad Canning (Nirvana). Although Regarding Emma had full promise and gathered a large fan base, the band unfortunately dissolved. Yet Christopher did not give up hope. He knew something better awaited him. After extensive auditions, he finally found the artist he was looking for.

As fate would have it, pop/jazz/soul singer and songwriter, Shannon Eileen, grew up only a few miles from Christopher in the Seattle suburbs. In high school, Shannon was classically trained in opera and won best soloist awards in state and regional jazz competitions. This experience led to a scholarship at the University of Southern California and she was admitted into the Thorton School of Music to study vocal performance. In college, she became a founding member of the first and only all-female a cappella group, USC Sirens, and her solo appeared on the Best of College A Cappella compilation CD. After touring the East Coast and Hawaii and recording two Contemporary A Cappella Award-winning albums with producer/engineer, Gabriel Mann (Sara Bareilles, The Rescues), Shannon decided to pursue her solo career after graduation.

Shannon signed with a small indie label, IMG Records, and co-wrote her first album, which won an LA Music Award for Album of the Year. Her band gathered a fan base by playing at top LA venues and they were flown to Cuba to perform for the troops. Shannon was also selected as a Quarter-Finalist in the Radio Star contest by Sony / Winterfresh. Her on-air interview and song was played on Top-40 stations nationally, and she received the Outstanding Achievement in Songwriting Award from the Great American Song Competition. After parting ways with IMG, Shannon kept writing and teamed up with 3x Grammy-winning producer/mixer/engineer, Warren Riker (The Fugees, Lauryn Hill, Santana). Her current EP has received publishing and label attention and has been spinning on commercial, public and college radio stations in both major U.S. cities and overseas. Shannon is endorsed by the renowned international artist discovery & development company, A&R Worldwide, and her songs have been placed in indie feature films and featured on MTV’s “The Real World” and “The Hills”.

Shannon’s smooth and sultry vocals are the perfect complement to Christopher’s ethereal guitars and atmospheric production. Their self-produced debut LP has already garnered major label interest while they continue to rehearse for their upcoming Universal and WB label showcases this August. With their melancholy lyrics and hauntingly beautiful melodies, Lorelei will tempt and seduce you. Lorelei will lure you in and never let you go.
