"Rockers Lorenzo Release “Ignition”!"

(PCM) Like similar rock artists, Nickelback, Daughtry and 3 Doors Down, Lorenzo’s sound is characterized by great songs driven by high-energy guitar.
Kevin Churko (Ozzy Osbourne, Hinder, 5-Finger Death Punch) produced the CD and did a fantastic job!

With great recordings in hand, Lorenzo quickly rose to become the top independent rock act in the Midwest per the Billboard/DiscMakers Independent Music World Series. They got their first Billboard add at WEBN in Cincinnati, and opened for several major acts, such as 3 Doors Down, Shinedown, Default and Hinder.

What followed were live shows with Stone Temple Pilots, Saving Abel and being featured on ESPN’s “The LIfe” website . They were also named the Official Band of “The Big Show” MMA (Mixed Martial arts) which has been televised on the CW and seen in over 30 Million homes worldwide on Sky Network.

The band is made up of talented and experienced professionals. Marko, the lead singer and founding member brings the voice to the band as well as acting as the main songwriter for the group. Guitarist Stuart McConnell is the heart of the dirty rock sound and Drummer Aaron Farrier creates the heavy rhythms that drive the high-energy Lorenzo shows.

"Lorenzo Ignition"

If a two-time Juno-Winning and Grammy nominated producer considers you “the kind of artist every producer dreams of finding,” you’ve probably got something going for you. This is what producer Kevin Churko (Ozzy Osbourne, Hinder, Shania Twain) said after hearing Lorenzo’s demos. Since then this Midwest trio has released three albums and has played with such bands as Stone Temple Pilots, Saving Abel, and, most recently, Fuel. Their latest release is Ignition.

Lorenzo has been compared to artists like Nickelback, Three Doors Down, and Daughtry. This should give you a pretty good sense of what to expect on Ignition, since these are all pretty familiar and accessible rock bands. The band is lead by vocalist and primary songwriter Mark Lorenzo, and fueled by drummer Aaron Farrier and guitarist Stuart McConnell.

Ignition is comprised of seven new tracks and four re-vamped ones and clocks in at just under 39 minutes of guitar driven rockers. The quality of the older and new songs is pretty consistent across the board, and many of them have the catchiness of singles. Markus certainly shows he has the knack for writing a catchy rock song here as his songs sound both familiar and new all at once. The comparisons of them to the bands mentioned earlier are pretty accurate, though at times maybe too similar. Lorenzo moves comfortably from softer too harder rock styles throughout Ignition, though they are at their best the heavier their tunes get. McConnell shreds on the guitar masterfully, making many of these songs bigger and better than those they are compared to on that front. For fans of Nickelback, Three Doors Down, and the like, Lorenzo’s Ignition is well worth your time.

"Lorenzo Ignition"

Lorenzo began when a couple of Mark’s tracks were heard at a demo review session. Although top honors didn’t go to Mark, radio promotion legend, Bill Scull signed him to his EO label, changed the name to today’s name Lorenzo, and set him out to record his label’s first album. The band quickly rose to one of the top independent rock acts in the mid-west. Some of the bands tracks have been used on TV such as “ESPN College Football,” “Shark” (CBS), 90210, “Threshold” (CBS), “Girlfriends” (CW) and “3lbs” on (CBS). The band’s latest release features 11 “tour-ready” tracks which spread 38 minutes. Ignition begins with “Wonder” which is a groovy tune with loads of edgy guitars and pounding drums. The intro gets your attention for the rest of the track while the vocals give up some easy lyrics to follow along with. The track doesn’t knock you over or anything, but its solid enough to keep it relevant. I would like the vocals to be a little better as there are places that they are hard to hear over the music. The track does repeat a lot for a three and a half minute tune. “I Think About Sex” offers up the same vocals that seem like they are recorded too low. The music saves them with a great vibe and smooth transitions. The guitar solo is great with the backing of some fast strikes of the kit, but I just feel that the overall track doesn’t stack up. It lacks consistent vocals and repeats too much. It just measure up with others. “Naked & Wasted” begins really slow before blasting out of the gates. The vocals then enter and they are a little better than the first two tracks. They seem to be better when they are on their own, but when the meat of the track comes up the vocals are at the best I have heard thus far. The chorus is catchy and keeps you coming back. It’s the best of the record to this point with the high powered music blended with better vocals. “Not Ready To Say I’m Sorry Yet” opens up with a really nice beat that works really well. The vocals sound really good against the tunes as the track is infused with a super catchy vibe. This is a track that I can see exploding. They finally found a nice balance between the elements and the track is well produced. “The Breaking” comes right back with another solid number. The vocals are a little strange as they just run through the lyrics at a fast pace and the vocals are low and hard to hear. The music is pretty cool with glimpse of greatness, but overall the track is in the middle tier when looked at whole. “Miss Alcohol” offers up some great yet predictable tunes. I was almost able to guess each way they went in the track, but it doesn’t mean it’s not good. I really like the vocals in this one. They have a little bit of an attitude, but more importantly you can hear them really well. The backing vocals also chime in and help set the whole effect. This track is a fast pace number for the most part that will get fans going and enjoying life. “Ain’t Found A Way” slows the album down again. The track offers up solid vocals that take control while the drums hit hard in the back. The guitars really don’t show up until the chorus, but there presents is welcomed when they do come to the forefront. The track is not a “wow” one, but it has little quirks that will have people not skipping it, like the insane guitar solo. “Nothin’ Left To Talk About” kicks the intensity and energy back up. They also throw some vocal effects at you while the guitars rip through their cords and the drums say nice and steady. The track is pretty catchy as it grabs your attention and will have a crowd moving in no time flat. There are several places where you can see the band getting the crowd involved and teasing them a little bit. This is a track that I can see getting a lot of air time, it’s just super catchy. “The Truth” begins like a punk track and basically keeps that style throughout. With that said it’s not a bad track at all. I think that most of the folks that like the harder stuff might skip this track, but they really shouldn’t. It has a great flow to it while the vocals are clear and in the front. They also have some nice gang vocals that they place in the track too. It is something that I would listen to often. “Bitch” slows the album down again with a fun little track that will go viral. The tunes are flirty and the lyrics as catchy as they can be. You can tell the band had a great time with this one and a crowd will go nuts when this one is placed. “Until Your Roses Turn Black” wraps up the album with an okay track that seems to be a second tier tune. It has okay vocals and a nice beat, but it doesn’t wow you in the very lease. It moves along with ease, but not excitement. Overall this is a real nice album. I have to admit that this is the first time that I have heard these guys and I’m hooked. They have great hooks and awesome guitars. Some of the tracks are very fresh and get the job done while others fill in the holes to round out a solid effort. At the beginning I really did - stealthespotlightzine

Lorenzo’s music is characterized simply by saying – "great songs."

The Band’s new CD, “Ignition” is already making waves. Added to 93 of the top 100 College radio stations and over 62 video outlets including, “CoolTV” and “RNRTV” in major markets, they are proving that there is something special about this music.

That Music Magazine stated...”With smash songs including Not Ready To Say I’m Sorry Yet, Nothing Left To Talk About, Naked & Wasted & Miss Alcohol, this group is clearly headed to the big time.” and Kevin Kozel of MuzikReviews.com said, “For fans of Nickelback, Three Doors Down, and the like, Lorenzo’s Ignition is well worth your time.”

Currently, the band is on a PR tour to promote the CD, including an in-studio stop on the Real Morning Show on WCRN in New York City. This follows a successful string of dates with Fuel and Filter.

The Lorenzo story started when Radio Promotion legend, Bill Scull heard Marko’s songs, “Little Breakdown” and “2 a.m.” at an ASCAP demo review session. Scull, who has worked in the industry for years singled him out, signed Marko to his EO label, changed the band’s name to Lorenzo and sent him out to record his label’s first CD. Scull and Emanon Records founder, Mike Busch then enlisted [future] Grammy-Nominated, Juno-Winning producer, Kevin Churko (Ozzy Osbourne, Hinder, 5-Finger Death Punch) to produce the CD. Churko, (who had just finished working with Mutt Lange), told Scull after he heard the demos, “This is the kind of artist every producer dreams of finding.” Lorenzo quickly rose to become the top independent rock act in the Midwest per the Billboard/DiscMakers Independent Music World Series. They got their first Billboard add at WEBN in Cincinnati, and opened for several major acts, such as 3 Doors Down, Shinedown, Default and Hinder.

The band is now on tour.
