Loretta Williams Gurnell, a soul-stirring, inspirational recording artist, speaker, actor, host & lyricist. Her refreshing sound, heart-wrenching lyrics and inspirational vibes soothe the soul while invigorating her audience with engaging stage presence. As a graduate of Central State University, member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., savvy business woman, mentor and Ohio native, Loretta is reaping the benefits of living a life full of grace and mercy before Christ.
Loretta is widely known for her inspirational voice through song from her debut CD, Its a New Day where shes opened for entertainers such as Joan Rivers, Kim Fields and political and Christian dignitaries such as Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee at the Gospel Music Heritage Month Celebration, State Rep. Sylvester Turner at the Heart of Houston luncheon & Bishop Vashti Murphy McKenzie at the 47th National Convention of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. in Las Vegas, NV. Furthermore, sharing the stage with some of entertainment industries finest such as Beverly Crawford, Karen Clark Sheard, & Vickie Winans, just to name a few. In addition, Lorettas been spotlighted at venues across the country; Las Vegas Convention Center, Cincinnati Convention Center, House of Blues, Austin City Limits Festival, Red Cat Jazz Caf, GMWA Hatters Tea, Omni Hotel, One Woman Business Conference, Montgomery County Fair Grounds, Texas Music Festival, Grace Community Church, & many more .
Over Lorettas journey, shes starred in the role of Velma in the hit play, Crowns, where Loretta received rave reviews in the Houston Chronicle & Houston Press. She also landed starring roles in hit plays such as When Momma Prays, and He Restoreth My Soul: The Story of Job. And is currently starring as Stella, in the touring play, Cries of the Wounded along side of Grammy Award nominee, Sheri Jones-Moffett of Donald Lawrences Tri-City Singers and is preparing to release her sophomore CD project spring 2012. Additionally, Loretta was selected for the 2007 Inaugural edition of Who's Who in Black Houston as an outstanding entrepreneur along with Houston's finest, named 2008 Texas Gospel Announcers Guilds Artist of the Year, 2009 National Women of Achievement Houston Stars & 2011 Bible Way Fellowship Baptist Church's Inaugural Living Legacy in the Arts.
Lorettas talents and gifts are many all the while her ability to connect with her audience in song, spoken expressions or inspirational chats, as she calls them is golden.
