Lorie’s personality, inviting warmth and genuine love for God transcends her music. Her songs touch everyone. Her lyrics reflect the real needs, desires, and struggles that every person experiences. She let’s her listeners know that God still loves us and is there by our side through all of life’s tests and trials. Lorie crystallizes her purpose in music and in life with this forthcoming album. It is a bright and beautiful reflection of the artist, created with a very clear end in mind; to touch hearts and let every generation know the love of God.”
Chicago Speaks - Lorie has the loyalty of the gospel community in Chicago, the respect of her peers for her talents, gifts, and commitment to ministry. With her powerful songwriting skills, flowing anointed voice, and diverse blend of music, Lorie is often compared to award winning gospel artists CeCe Winans and Crystal Lewis and has already independently sold thousands of copies of her EP locally. Her music is presently in rotation on Radio stations and in Christian clubs in Chicago, Texas, Indiana and Ohio.
Her Ministry - Sound For Me Worship Ministries, under the covering of her home church God Is Real International Ministries is a teaching ministry designed to teach and build the gospel music ministry through workshops and seminars with special ministry to those who are active in ushering in the presence of God. Lorie sets out to extend the reach of her music and message to the nations. Her message for 2005 year is accountability and responsibility in regards to gospel music ministry.
Q&A - What do you feel your genre of music is? I feel it’s multi-faceted; that it appeals to all people.
LS - There is something on this project for everyone; traditional, urban, contemporary christian music, etc.
Q&A - What would you say to artists launching into the gospel music industry in regards to there relation ship with God?
LS - The effectiveness of your ministry should flow from the intensity of your personal relationship with God. Your gift will make room for you and bring you before great men, but only the anointing will destroy the yoke and people can tell the difference.
Performances - Lorie has traveled throughout the country and abroad to Sweden and Denmark where she performed at the Chicago live Gospel Choir Fest with Walt Whitman & The Soul Children of Chicago. Lorie has opened up for renowned artists such as gospel pioneer John P. Kee and Holy Hip Hop artists, The Cross Movement. She also joined Walt Whitman & The Soul Children of Chicago as they opened up for Paula White’s Crusade “Date with Destiny” at the UIC Pavilion, Chicago, 2004. She currently travels alongside her pastor, Dr. Lauretta Pickett as her psalmist.
