Lori King is a native Detroit performer with an undeniably unique voice. A seasoned performer and songwriter, Lori has had the opportunity to touch audiences all over the world. Not only in major cities in the United States, but across the waters to places like London, England; Gothenburg, Sweden; and Cannes, France.
Her original, soulful, sultry sound captivates an audience in an experience, leading them down a road that links them to the raw passion of her craft. Best described as the perfect blend of soul, pop, and jazz, her critics have used words such as “…Fresh, New, and Real…” to describe her refreshing talents. Lori’s voice and songwriting caught the ear of 5 Time Grammy Award Winning Producer Michael J. Powell (Anita Baker, Aretha Franklin, Randy Crawford, TLC, R Kelly…etc) and he immediately signed the artist to his D-Town label. The result is a collaborated creation of timeless music with soulful pop and jazz influences entitled “Lori King-Still In Love”.
2011 finds this artist nominated for 3 Detroit Music Awards of which she is very grateful, and humbled by. Additionally, a pre-release air time opportunity from 96.3fm WDVD’s Radio Café in April of 2010 garnered the #1 spot on the stations & MetroTimes sponsored “Top 10 Most Requested Songs List” for 4 consecutive weeks resulting in on air interviews and additional airplay opportunities. As a past participant at the MIDEM Music Festival in Caanes, France, her material was once again well received and represented for licensing in early 2010. These are only a few highlights that are an indication of what’s to come from this dynamic artist in the very near future this year.
