Lori McCracken

Lori McCracken is one of those composing performers who love to sing a song that
captures the heart of every listener. As she sings, the audience evolves into a group of
friends that feel her heartfelt voice and love for music.
Lori was practically born in a honky tonk. Her babysitter was the foot petal of a bass
drum until she was old enough to hold a microphone and from that point on, she was
destined to perform. Being raised in a musical atmosphere certainly didn’t hinder her
singing style. Her Mom and Dad taught her to appreciate the classic country vocalists of
the 60’s, 70’s and 80’s. It wasn’t long before Lori was being compared to a young Patsy
Cline or Linda Ronstadt. Soon the “that little McCracken girl” became a draw at local
bars and churches around East Texas. As time has past, Lori has developed a unique style
of her own while still drawing from the old “Queens of Country” and mirroring the more
contemporary writing styles of Sheryl Crow and Melissa Etheridge.
Lori recently moved back from Chicago, where she played the Women With Guitars Festival, Uncommon Ground and Red Line Tap. Lori also won the 2006 Voice of Pride competition in Dallas, Texas and has been
asked to perform at several charity events in and around the DFW area. She is currently
seeking new experiences in the local music scene in Dallas,Tx.
Lori often plays a solo show, accompanying herself with her acoustic guitar. Her music is
a mixture of upbeat, uplifting songs and tear jerking ballads. For anyone who has ever
heard her voice, Lori forces all heads to stop, look and listen. With a strong, full, and
honest voice, all classification ceases when one is enraptured by the heart and soul of
singer/songwriter Lori McCracken.
