Bio

Lori Morrison is a small town girl from Northern Ontario who is making a name for herself on the country music scene as a talented songwriter. For two consecutive years, Lori secured a spot on the KX96 Radio’s Christmas Compilation CD. First in 2002 with the song "Santa’s Little Helper" which she co-wrote with respected songwriter Wendell Ferguson and then again in 2003 with her own piece titled, "Hey it’s Christmastime."

"Keep the Candle Burning," Lori’s debut single in 2002 got solid play on Country Radio and earned Lori a spot on Canadian Musician Magazine’s Great Canadian Talent Search Compilation CD. In the fall of 2003, she released the new single, "Never Never" off her debut album and received even more airplay followed by "Unstoppable", a catchy summer tune. Now her Spring 2005 release of "Waitin’ Tables", a strong story of determination and perseverance, is sure to reach the heart of the ‘working woman’ everywhere.

On her CD, Just My Luck, Lori wrote three original songs and co-wrote two more with Wendell Ferguson. The album, which was released on May 26, 2004, was showcased at a party that same day at Clinton’s Tavern in Toronto. Special guests included country recording artist, Colin Amey and Toronto Blues sensation, Mark "Bird" Stafford. Proceeds from the event went to The North York General Hospital Pediatrics Unit. Lori also, was recently honoured with the Future Star Award at the 2004 Ontario Country Music Awards.

Born and raised on a small farm in Bruce Mines, Ontario, Lori discovered "New Country" and her favourite artist, Reba McEntire when she was fourteen. The strong lyrical storytelling of Reba inspired Lori to start writing her own songs. Having several years of experience in 911 Emergency Police Dispatching also allows Lori to call on those emotions and scenarios for a strong delivery.

Lori uses her strong singing voice styled in classic country with a pop influence to express her experiences. "You know when you get goose bumps when you hear a song? To me, that’s how you know it was a good song. That should be the goal of every musician and every songwriter; whether it makes you angry, makes you sad, or makes you laugh, it doesn’t matter, as long as it moves you emotionally in some way," she says.

Her debut CD entitled "Just My Luck" is now available for purchase
online at www.lorimorrison.ca.

Lori is a talented songwriter, a strong vocalist and a Canadian artist to keep an
eye on.
