I'll Only Be Gone A Little While
Written By: Lorna Flowers
I'LL ONLY BE GONE A LITTLE WHILE L.Flowers
I remember when I was seven and daddy packed his truck
He said he had to go where the work was, try and change his family's luck
And I said please take me with you I don't want you to leave
He hugged me closer to him as I cried on his sleeve,
Then he said
CHORUS :
I'll only be gone a little while
Come on now and kiss me
I'll be in your heart, you needn't miss me
Let me see you smile
I'll only be gone a little while
I graduated high school couldn’t wait to get away
I was going off to college and counting down the days
The world was out there waiting as I cut the apron strings
But ties stronger than the strongest rope would bring me back again
And I said
CHORUS REPEAT :
Bridge :
Life led me far from home
It didn’t matter where I’d go
Love was always there to keep us close
I'll never forget that phone call, late one summer night
They said you'd better get back home now, there isn't that much time
And as I saw my daddy lying there I broke down and cried 'don't leave'
There I was that kid again crying on his sleeve,
Then he said
CHORUS REPEAT :
I'll only be gone a little while

Don't let Go
Written By: Lorna Flowers/Kevin Stokes
DON'T LET GO
You don't have to tell me
I see it in your eyes
I know you're leaving
And it comes as no surprise
I knew this would happen
Though I tried all I could
To hold to a love
That once was so good
Before you say we're through
Can I ask one thing of you
CHORUS :
Don't let go
Don't let go
We can make it, but it'll take both of us
Along with some faith, a little hope and some trust
Give it a chance, baby
Just take my hand, baby
And don't let go
I know we've had our share
Of pleasures and pain
And I know I'm willing
To compromise again
It's not over till it's over
Just touch me and let
Your heart rule your mind
Don't say goodbye yet
Before you close the door
Look inside once more - and
CHORUS REPEAT
Bridge :
What good is it girl if we gain the whole world and lose ourselves
We’ve got nothing else
This love is all I need
Without you where would I be
Instrumental break :
Before you say we're through
Can I ask one thing of you
(modulate to )
CHORUS REPEAT
Everything To Me
Written By: Lorna Flowers
EVERYTHING TO ME
I'm not the hero in your eyes anymore
I don't see the look I used to see
I don't know where the feeling's gone
But I've been trying for so long
To be the one you thought I'd be
'Cos you mean everything to me.
I felt your love slipping sliding away
When I need it here to comfort me
I saw your look so hard and cold
My heart stopped and turned to stone
That's not how I wanted it to be
'Cos you mean everything to me.
How can I convince you it isn’t over yet
I’m still the same I haven’t changed
Though somehow now this distance
Is closing a door on the love we’ve known
So your hero stands forgotten and alone
Instrumental break
How can I convince you it isn’t over yet
I’m still the same I haven’t changed
Though somehow now this distance
Is closing a door on the love we’ve known
So your hero stands forgotten and alone
I can be hero in your eyes once again
We’ll be closer than we’ve ever been
Don’t know why we’re this far apart
But I’ll keep trying oh so hard
Till our love’s where it used to be
'Cos you mean everything
You mean everything
Everything to me
Strong Enough To Lose You
Written By: L.Flowers
STRONG ENOUGH TO LOSE YOU L.Flowers
If you think that I’m weak
And I can’t let you go
Then you don’t know me that well
I’ll be fine on my own
Don’t look back as you walk away
I won’t be crying for yesterday
CHORUS :
Cause if all of this time
Will end in goodbye
And there’s nothing that I can do
Baby I’m gonna be
Strong enough to lose you
They say something better begins
When something comes to an end
My heart is breaking right now
I know I’ll love again
I might have some regrets
But I’ll never wish that we never met
And – CHORUS REPEAT
Bridge :
I’ll feel your arms when it’s midnight
Taste your good morning kiss
Sometimes I’ll love how it was
And I’ll hate how it is
But – CHORUS REPEAT

The Trouble With Me
Written By: Lorna Flowers/Alison Joy Williams
THE TROUBLE WITH ME L.Flowers/A.Williams
Overshot my turn
On the way to work
Another late night with you
More coffee wouldn’t hurt
I’ve got one brown shoe and one black shoe on
Sent a birthday card to Dad instead of Mom
I’m making all these mistakes
Cause I’m not thinking straight
CHORUS :
The trouble with me
Is usually you
I can’t keep my mind on anything but what we do
Cause you hold me, touch me, kiss me
In ways that feel brand new
The trouble with me
Is usually you
Haven’t been to church
Haven’t seen my friends
My folks keep calling me
Wondering where I’ve been
Even my cat thinks that I’ve moved
My car’s so dirty you’d can’t see it’s blue
It’ll all stay that way Cause I’m -
Wrapped in your arms again tonight
CHORUS REPEAT :
Bridge :
Everybody thinks that I’m just falling apart
But they’re all wrong cause right I’m just falling hard
CHORUS REPEAT :

Talking To The Roses
Written By: Bridgette Tatum/Lorna Flowers
TALKING TO THE ROSES B.Tatum/L.Flowers
The world was crazy and war was cruel back in ‘42
She was just a little girl growing up fast and didn’t have a clue
Why her mama spent so much time in the garden
CHORUS : girl
Talking to the roses
Praying out to Jesus
Shaking her fist up to Heaven
Saying ‘Bring him back you know he needs us’
Like the garden needs your rain
Like the healer needs the pain
Another day closes
She’s talking to the roses
The world was high on love and the Beatles in ‘64
All grown up, she got married thought she had it all
Till he left her with a baby and she found herself in the garden
CHORUS :
Talking to the roses
Praying out to Jesus
Shaking her fist up to Heaven
Saying ‘Bring him back don’t let him leave us’
Mama said the garden needs your rain
Like the healer needs the pain
Don’t let the sun go down
And leave me here hoping
Talking to the roses
Bridge :
Mama’s been long gone
But she helps me find some peace
Every time the flowers bloom
And the dew kisses me
CHORUS :
And I’m talking to the roses
Talking to the roses
You know the flowers needs your rain
Like the healer needs the pain
Another day closes
Talking to the roses
