"Christian Artist Comes Home For Orange Park Concerts"

From a cheerleader singing “Hit Me With Your Best Shot” at Orange Park High School to traveling around the United States singing Christian music from her two CDs, Lorri Dresbach is coming home to perform a concert in Orange Park this weekend.

HighPoint Community Church will host Dresbach on Saturday, June 6, and Sunday, June 7 for a free concert featuring music from her first CD called “Run Into the Fire” and a couple songs from her new album that should be revealed sometime in late August or early September this year.

She hasn’t come up with a name for her new CD yet, Dresbach said, but she does know the message she wants to communicate at the concert this weekend.

“I’ve been praying a lot about the concert, and I feel like God is telling me they need hope and encouragement,” she said. “I want to be able to bless them back for all the ways they’ve blessed me.”

The last time Dresbach performed at HighPoint, she talked about the healing she received to become a breast cancer survivor. Now that she has been healed, Dresbach wants the cure to be the theme of her new album. But she said, “I haven’t gotten the OK from heaven yet.”

Even still, Dresbach is already planning to share her worship and story beyond her home in Birmingham, Ala. to Mississippi, New York and a Women of Power conference in the Northwest. But first she is making her stop in Orange Park.

The concerts at HighPoint Community Church, 84 Knight Boxx Road, Orange Park, will be at 7 p.m. June 6 and 7. Complimentary tickets are available at the door, and a love offering will be taken at the event. - Florida Time Union

Bio

My music is an eclectic mix of styles with influences that range from rock and roll to contemporary and pop music. I grew up singing classical and traditional gospel music in church and "moonlighted" as a rock and roll wannabe in school. Thankfully, the church has opened its arms (and doors) to bands and to worship leaders who have an edgier sound so that singer/songwriters like me have a place to express our gifts. What is consistent in the songs I write is the honesty of the lyrics. All of the songs are "birthed" out of personal conversations with God. My first solo album, "Run Into The Fire" was written while I was undergoing breast cancer treatment. I was very honest with God about all that was happening, and that raw emotion came through in the music. In all of the questioning and not understanding "why" I sang anyway. For me there was no other choice. The second solo album, "Cure For The Common Life" expresses the "victorious warrior" that is fighting its way to the surface in all of us. It is the story of how God gave me peace on the other side of the trial. Peace and confidence to be able to live this thing called life to the fullest. Risking more, challenging more and going deeper than I ever dreamed possible. So, what happens in one of my live events is a testimony through song, word and music. A testimony of the love of God that will never fail us, that always longs to heal us and that will never leave us nor forsake us. When He shows up, nothing else matters. And that is what I'm after.
