Bio
Los Honey Rockets were founded in 2012 by Jorge Vilchis on guitar and vocals (La Gusana Ciega / Guillotina) and Alex Zazá (Los Yeti) on bass, starting off as a power duo. During this time Mauricio Ruiz Palacios entered the band on drums, Fedex (Polen) on second guitar and organ, Jasmina "Venado" Hirschl on the organ and back vocals and finally, Daniel Vilchis (The Roca La mole / Manglar) on saxophone ,flute and back vocals. Combining jagged, roaring guitars and stop-start dynamics with psychedelic punk hooks, and evocative, cryptic lyrics. The band members are rock fans who turned conventions inside out, melding punk and psychedelic guitar rock. Fragmented lyrics about space, religion, sex, and pop culture; while the meaning of his lyrics may have been impenetrable, the music was direct and forceful. Los Honey Rockets play PGP (Psychedelic Garage Punk), with distorted guitar and bass sounds, powerful drums and a saxophone and organ sound that takes you back to the 60s. The lyrics speak of heartbreak and excess. The main objective of the band is to make fun music for their audience and for themselves. They have an EP.
