Bio

Los Chicos, Spain’s wildest band, has just released their third album “Launching Rockets”, produced by Mike Mariconda (The Raunch Hands, The Devil Dogs and The Stepbrothers), producer of the best albums of the 80s and 90s mythical label, Crypt, and featuring the great Paul Collins (The Beat).
Their music is a cocktail of the best black music, Rhythm&Blues and Soul, lots of rock&roll, a bit of country and a touch of garage and punk. This creates an explosive combinaton, that becomes a powerful and tremendous party at their live concerts. The CD has been released by Rockispain (Madrid) and the LP by Dirty Water Records (London).
“Launching Rockets” includes 15 songs in less than forty shocking minutes. Marked by a captivating rhythm base, influenced by both The Sonics garage rhythms and the Stax label soul sound. Guitars sound like dirty rock&roll a la Dr. Feelgood or Pirates, with the everpresent influence of Bo Diddley. If you add a crazy saxophonist, and a singer, who is without a doubt, one of the spanish best frontmen, just imagine what you’ll get when listening to these guys.
In their new album, you can find a little bit of everything they like, Rockpile’s rock&roll, party soul like the greatest black singers, Pogues’ tabern folk, , redneck country, as if you brutalize the Creedence to the max, Eddie & The Hot Rods or Bishops style pubrock, and to wrap it all up, they dedicate an ode to party with a boogie.
Los Chicos have shared stage with international legendary bands like Southern Culture on the Skids, The Pirates, Eddie & the Hot Rods, The A-Bones, Paul Collins, King Khan, Coyote Men, The Egos, Mike Mariconda’s Stepbrothers,… and they’ve all had nothing but praise for these 6 specimens. Beck mentioned them two years ago as his favourite spanish band, now Josele Santiago (the singer of Los Enemigos, one of the best and more influential spanish rock bands ever) is recommending their album all around. If so many people with that kind of musical background have set their eyes on them, there must be a reason.
They’ve been all over Spain, but have also played abroad. They are regulars in London, have amazed people in their tours in France, Germany, Holland, and have been a hit at festivals in England, Holland and Portugal.
If you like to party and Rock&Roll don’t miss any Los Chicos concert.
