Bio

Is the brand new show from two very distinctive artists, come together to create a special new sound… flamenco folk/rock fusion!

Hannah Pearl And Ruben Cortes met in Granada, Spain in 2007 and began to teach each other their own very different musical languages. From this creative exchange, developed a fusion which has finally blossomed into a whole new form, incorporating traditional flamenco songs and dances with western singer/songwriter accessibility.

Born on opposite points of the earth, they are each accomplished musicians in their own right: Ruben Cortes is a Spanish Gypsy, and comes from a long line of respected artists, and has shared the stage with some of the biggest names in Flamenco today including Remedios Amaya, La Tana, El Vareta, and El Niño Pura.

Hannah Pearl, an Australian singer/songwriter, has written and performed music for almost half her life. Born on a hippie commune near Nimbin, NSW, she has always been dedicated to her creativity, studying dance and acting as a youngster until devoting herself fully to music at the age of 19. Since then she has been involved with many groups, toured Australia and Europe, and has recorded two solo albums of her own.

Their new show brings together the best elements from each of their cultures; together they have created a colourful, passionate dialogue between the old and the new, the traditional and the modern…incorporating music, dance and a little touch of drama.
