After years of hard work and exciting musical adventures in the Canary Islands, France and Madrid, Los Silencios released their first CD, called Butterflies In My Head, the 9th of March, 2007, in Las Palmas de Gran Canaria (Canary Islands), partly thanks to many Canarian enterprises who proffered them an unselfish support.

Their videoclip was emitted four or five times a day during a whole month in Tele5 -Canary Islands- and many important and small Canarian radio stations are airplaying their single -called as the CD, Butterflies In My Head.

Los Silencios CD ran out of shops and stores quite soon in Las Palmas, Gran Canaria, where it is still being sold as well as in Tenerife and other islands.

After some months, Butterflies In My Head was released in Madrid, concretely at a great international and well known leisure products chaine (Fnac).

Last summer, Los Silencios were chosen as the OFFICIAL SOUND OF BEACH FOOTBALL in the Canary Islands.

IF YOU WISH TO KNOW SOME MORE ABOUT LOS SILENCIOS´BIOGRAPHY, PLEASE, KEEP ON READING!

Los Silencios began as a four member Pop-Folk band in Gran Canaria (Canary Islands, Spain), in 1996. Miriam Lezcano was the main songwriter of the band. After recording their second demo at that time, they played in some pubs and local events. In summer of 1996, they travelled to France, where they succesfully toured around the region of L´Ariège -during a month- and appeared in the front page of the local press Le Journal de l´Ariège.

In 1997 the band´s style developped into Pop-Rock, due to the inclusion of three new members: a bassist, a drummer and a new guitarrist who would afterwords be one of the main members and songwriters, together with Miriam, until nowadays: Toni Estévez.

After recording a third demo, the new Silencios kept on playing at local parties, hired by the cultural area of several town halls and participated in national contests, winning some of them. As a result of it, the local press started talking about the band and a very important national radio program (La Gramola-M80- Cadena Ser) airplayed one of their songs.

It was in 1998 when the band decided to travel to Madrid, where they gigged several times during a month and were interviewed in Radio Nacional.

During the same month of october, they were called by the organization of a Canarian Festival, where Los Silencios could share stage with Undrop (Pepsi´s band at that moment), La Oreja de Vahn Gogh (Famous Pop Spanish band) and Navajita Plateá (Famous Flamenco-Pop Spanish band).

During 1999 and 2000, when Los Silencios had already achieved some recognition in the islands, they planned to spend a longer period in Madrid and added some charity events to their calendar. One of these events, gathered funds in favour of Central America in collaboration with Red Cross and some other NGOs.

However, during that time, the band members lives took different ways. Miriam and Toni finished their studies at the University (Translation -Miriam- and Engineering -Toni) as well as their musical studies (Título profesional de música at the Conservatory-Miriam- and modern harmony and guitar classes -Toni).

At the same time, they started participating in multicultural events and making music for artistic video presentations and inaugurations in Gran Canaria (Mapfre Foundation, Science and Technology Institute, Commercial Circle).

Their musical experiences and studies and the discovery of new technologies in music permitted them to become arrangers of their own music. Both of them started writing songs together and working on a new repertory and a new demo while they planned a long period in Madrid.

In 2002, Los Silencios travelled to Madrid and started playing with the collaboration of two new musicians: Fernando López (bassist, from Madrid) and Javier Pásara (Drummer, from Peru, who was living in Madrid).

Almost immediately, Toni was chosen by a well known theatre company to write the electronic music for one of their performances Voluminaires- Futuristik Freaks. Consequently, the four music

BUTTERFLIES IN MY HEAD

Written By: Miriam Lezcano & Toni Estévez

BUTTERFLIES IN MY HEAD

She cried while she thought that they had no convictions
Though everyone loved her it seemed she was blind
She thought she had no life no reason to fight
And realized quickly she no more had innocent eyes

She told me she no more had innocent eyes (x2)

CHORUS:

Peace
Butterflies in my head
Freedom
Butterflies in my head
Love
Butterflies in my head
Friends
Butterflies in my head
Music
Butterflies in my head
People
Butterflies in my head
Nature
Butterflies in my head
Passion

Though everyone loved her she felt she was strange
Were the others the stupid or was she the mad?
Of course, there where things she did not understand
With no doubt she knew that convictions were really inside

Most people will not change, they´re just as they are (x2)

CHORUS (x2)

I´m gonna make it real my friend
No more butterflies in my head (x2)

CHORUS (x2)

YOU WANT IT ALL

Written By: Miriam Lezcano & Toni Estévez

YOU WANT IT ALL

Are you still free
When you´re with me
I would believe that you know how I feel
If you agreed
But then you say
You'll be yourself ´till the end of your days

You think you´re brave
´cause you don´t change
I think the truth is you´re always afraid
To give it all
To someone else
I may be plain but I won´t be your game
But I won´t be your game (But I won´t be your game)

CHORUS:
You only wanna have it all
You´re not risking enough ´cause you´re just holding on
Now she is gone
And if she calls, will you go back
Like a dog?
Now she is gone
You´re not different enough

But now I know
It's all my fault
I should have known from the start love is not
The way I thought
You make me feel
I am the dark side, the jealous, the dull

You think you´re brave (ha)
Cause you don´t change (ha)
I think the truth is you´re always afraid
To give it all
To someone else
I can be plane but I won´t be your game
But I won´t be your game (But I won´t be your game, but I won´t be your game)

CHORUS (x2)

You´re not different enough
You´re not different enough!!!!

And if she calls will you go back, will you go back, will you go back
And if she calls will you go back
And if she calls will you go back, will you go back, will you go back

You only wanna have it all
You only wanna have it all
You only wanna

CHORUS (x2)

You only wanna have it all
Holding on
And if she calls will you go back, will you go back, like a dog
(And if she calls will you go back, will you go back, will you go back)
You only wanna have it all (You only wanna have it all)...

TIRED OF YOUR LIES

Written By: Miriam Lezcano & Toni Estévez

TIRED OF YOUR LIES

I'm tired of your lies
And your manipulation
And I can't wait any more
To let you know
That I'm leaving you

I´ve realized that you
Deserve your reputation
You'll never cheat me again
´Cause I´ll never ever
Play your game

CHORUS:

You hurt me so
I used to fight for you
Now I want you to go
I´ve made up my mind
So baby please
Get out of my sight!

I'm tired of your lies
And your manipulation
And I can't wait any more
To let you know
That I'm leaving you

I´ve realized that you
Deserve your reputation
You'll never cheat me again
´Cause I´ll never ever
Play your game

CHORUS

BETWEEN TWO LINES

Written By: Miriam Lezcano & Toni Estévez

BETWEEN TWO LINES

I wish you could understand I'm between two lines
Why do I have to choose?
I think I know what you mean I agree with you
But I side with them too
I wish you could understand I'm between two lines
Why do I have to choose?
I want to know why you say we can't have it all
Why is there just one way for you (for you) for you

CHORUS:
You test me, advice me and cry
But you'll never change my mind
You threaten me and explain
I have to take one side (You test me, advice me and cry)
But you'll never change my mind
You threaten me and explain
I have to take one side

I´ve seen a flower coming out from a dirty wall
That makes me feel all right
I´ve seen the sun disappear under heavy clouds
While coloured rays break out
People can be right or wrong, do they own the truth?
Who am I to decide?
I can be used and accused, but I´ll never be
The saviour of the world
The saviour of the world

CHORUS
You test me advice me and cry
You´ll never change my mind
You test me, advice me
You´ll never change my mind
You test me, advice me
You´ll never...

CHORUS
You test me advice me...

I STILL REMEMBER

Written By: Miriam Lezcano

I STILL REMEMBER

I still remember the times we played with you
I still remember the things we used to do
I still remember how much I laughed with you
I still remember the way I cried because of you

I know everything´s over now
And those days belong to the past
It's a pity boy but we have to go on
I know everything´s over now
And those days belong to the past
It's a pity girl but we have to go on

We´re strong, I know we´re strong
I feel so strong now
Strong now
We´re strong, I know we´re strong
I feel so strong now
Strong now

I hope the things that we did were not in vain
Sometimes I think we could be together again
I still remember the times we played with you
I still remember the times we played with you

I know everything´s over now
And those days belong to the past
It's a pity boy but we have to go on
I know everything´s over now
And those days belong to the past
It's a pity girl but we have to go on

We´re strong, I know we´re strong
I feel so strong now
Strong now
We´re strong, I know we´re strong
I feel so strong now
Strong now
Strong now
Strong now
Strong…now
