Bio
Sonex is a proyect that borns in 2005 from the roots of mexican leeward traditional music from Veracruz, Son Jarocho. In October of 2007 we realease our first álbum with the Zafra Music Company, in that album we could count with the beautiful job of the fotographer Graciela Iturbide (2008 Hasselblad Award Winner)
and with the colaboration of Rubén Albarrán of the mexican band Café Tacuba (Latin grammy winners of 2009), by one side, and the group of Catalunya Ojos de Brujo, by other. Because of that we have build a strong carrer wich has took us to different festivals with international prestige like the México: Puerta de las Américas Festival (México City, 2006) and the renamed Vive Latino Festival (México City, 2010); and internationally we´ve played in the D.C.s Duke Ellington Jazz Festival (J.F. Kennedy Center, Washington D.C., 2007), as ambassadors of México in the XVII Iberoamerican Summit of Presidents ( Santiago Chile, 2007), and as winners of the Day of the Earth Contest of National Geographic Channel and Myspace, facing 11,500 contestants of Latin America.
