Every day I get two kinds of entries from artists, publicists, and record companies. They read either as “review this latest album” or “such and such is going on tour/in the studio/shooting a video/etc.” please provide any coverage you can. With those normal submissions in mind I was quite surprised to find an entry from Lost Chapter that simply wanted me to get a feel for the band and their music and if I felt inclined to do so could write about them or simply enjoy the music for myself. The reason Lost Chapter is on the site today is because there was very little pressure associated with checking out their hybrid Metalcore/Thrash style and they have quite a few accomplishments under their belts.

Hailing from South East Ohio Nick Moore (vocals), Ryan Yanck (guitar), Cory Passmore (guitar), F-bomb (bass) and Matt Guthrie (drums) have come out of this rural style setting with a style they have billed as “life” metal as opposed to the genre death metal. Having been on the road steady their success continues to grow year after year with 2009 being a banner time for Lost Chapter with a signed sponsorship from Jagermeister that has given them the obvious distinction of getting to play Jager stages all over the United States.

The band also has some instrumental sponsors and has spent time on the Rockstar Energy Mayhem Festival as the only unsigned artist to be asked for multiple performances. The acclaim doesn’t stop there as Lost Chapter has gained a large audience in Australia even though they have never graced down under soil. Radio play in the region has pushed the band to be in high demand for a tour of Paul Hogan’s continent.

If you head over to www.facebook.com/lostchapter you will find all of this information and something that was pretty inspirational to me. They have quotes listed from fans and industry people (one being Mr. Dave Navarro) that talk about not only the band’s music, but their likability and determination to get things done. You don’t come across a ton of grounded practical people in the music industry so it’s very refreshing to see a humble band that others are willing to open up about. As for the fans: “idolize” is the only word that could accurately describe both the bands and their fans feelings for each other. - www.welovemetal.com

Straightforward and in your face metal with a little bit of melodic rock mixed in is what you get when listening to LOST CHAPTER who hails from a rural part of South East Ohio. I’m being more and more pleasantly surprised by these bands emerging from cities you’ve never heard about and having more talent and drive then ones that are based out of major cities like Los Angeles. I believe it’s partly because out here in Los Angeles, the key to a bands success is usually based on who you know, not what you do. It’s all the way around elsewhere.

LOST CHAPTER is a multifaceted band; you can’t quite put them under a certain genre, which is a rarity these days. However, not only are these guys musicians, they also take part in contributing to amazing organizations such as Music Saves Lives by donating 5,000 download cards for their song “Live Or Die”. As we all know, Music Saves Lives has been one of the biggest and best organizations anyone involved in the music industry could possibly contribute to.

Among some of LOST CHAPTERs’ achievements, they were the only unsigned Jagermeister Opener band on last years Mayhem Festival to be asked to open more then one date. They also opened at the 2009 Mayhem Festival tour date in Burgettstown, PA. They’ve been asked to open this years Mayhem Festival tour date in Burgettstown, PA once again. They are sponsored by InTune Guitar Picks, Jagermeister, have been featured on the Australian radio station 102.1 Triple R Radio and have their video for “Unspoken Glory” featured on our very own HollywoodMusicTV.

Keep an ear open and an attentive eye out for these guys in the years to come, they’ve only just begun the revolution.
