"Music for men, not boys."

LOST DISCIPLES
Music for men, not boys.

It's refreshing to find a deeper male voice showing up for the lead vocals, Something that's all but vanished since those early hippie days when rock 'n roll still had its macho edge.

Jason Baltzley really gives it all up too. His depth is also reflected in the songs, not just in the outer layer of lyrics but throughout every molecule of music -- a rare quality that shows a spiritual link between creator and created.

Jason and bandmates, Donovan (lead guitar), Kirt (percussion), and Bobby (bass) have mastered the ability to tackle uncomfortable issues of life that so many younger bands take on before they're ready.

It's, "MUSIC FOR THE SOUL".

The Band's Tag line,
" Music for men, not boys", says it all.

The Guitar Shredding foursome, Lost Disciples, are a regular act at Blind Melons and have been part of the local independent music scene for over 7 years. Their latest EP is sure to please with Hard-Driving, Hard-Core /Alternative Rock, complete with a token, "AAyyayayyy!", every few seconds or so.
Each song starts at a crawl, gradually gainig speed with the resounding chords of the electric guitars as they switch from loud and continuous to turbulent and blaring. Each track ends in a non-melodic fusion of power chords, crash cymbals, and three grown men screaming lines like, "Catch me, I'm loosing all my self-control."
Most of each song's lure is found in the hardness of the roaring guitars and rhythimical screaming, though melody lines are present. "Seed" starts out innocently enough but suddenly awakens to powerful guitars and bass. Electric guitar also takes center stage in "Seed", with lofty rifts throughout.
The only down-fall of the Lost Disciples is their tendency to use ripping guitar solos as a reason to forget about everything else. The melody lines blur when things get really hard, whaen the emphasis is placed on heaviness instead of harmony, though the band manages never to let things get too over the top. "Over Again", a slower ballad sounding as though it could have come from Pearl Jam, proves that the guys can also tone things down.

The New CD, "SWELL", set to be released in late July of 04 has already been called, "the most ambitious EP to come out of San Diego in at least 10 years".
