Bio

Lost Heroes began in 2004 with members, Zak Tomic, Rene Ticas, and Josue Ba in a high school setting of the North Houston area. The project began as just simple jams to have fun and to experiment with their musical tastes and advance their playing skills. The “band” became much more than just a fun hobby; it became something that the guys could plug into and hold on to. In essence, the music and unity of the group became a way of life rather than a side venture. As time passed, Lost Heroes transformed and grew through different styles of music that the members were influenced by; particularly Hard Rock. Tastes ran from early rock n roll to Spanish rock, to heavy metal, to punk rock, classic rock, to grunge. The variety of styles allowed the group to have a versatile approach to the way they composed and performed their music. With their diverse ethnic and cultural backgrounds, all of the members of Lost Heroes bring a different paintbrush and color to the canvas of their songs which leads to a dynamic yet streamlined outcome of solid music. In 2005 the three members of Lost Heroes (Zak Tomic, Rene Ticas, Josue Ba) went their separate ways for a short period to pursue other non-musical endeavors. The band dissipated and the music and instruments lay dormant This short period was a low time for front man Zak Tomic that eventually led to their reuniting in the summer of 2006. The fire of the music had been rekindled and their unity and brotherhood as a group had only grown stronger through their separation. It was time for Lost Heroes to take the next step in evolution and complete their line up by finding a bass guitarist. Many auditions passed until the guys met bassist David Hayes from Sugarland. His unique taste in music and music study at the University of Houston allowed the groups music to again gain quality and variety. For the time, the line up was complete with Zak Tomic: Vocals/Lead Guitars, Josue Ba: Rhythm Guitar/Backing Vocals, David Hayes: Bass Guitar, Rene Ticas: Drums/Percussion. Shows were imminent and the group was ready to display what they had to offer. Many shows later, the band’s mood, music, and attitude only snowballed and took all of the members to new heights unprecedented in their experiences as solo musicians. New material and energy kept adding to their repertoire as they continued playing the local clubs like Fitzgeralds, to colleges like the University of Houston, pouring all their energy and hearts into their performances. Eventually front man Zak Tomic decided to put down the lead guitar and take full control of the vocal position leaving a gap in the band that needed to be filled. While working on their latest CD project self titled “Lost Heroes” they sought out a lead guitarist that fit the bill. Again the arduous process of auditions began with a bleak beginning. With no luck in sight the band happened to phone young Chris Evans of the Woodlands in response to a Craigslist ad. He was all that the band was looking for and once more added another spice to the band. He surprised the band also with his dual talents of guitar and piano. This unexpected asset has brought rich ambience and provided an elegance new to the music. Now in 2008, Lost Heroes is complete. Having all the additions necessary for a full line up of unique yet united individuals. Lost Heroes is now in full gear and ready to make their presence known with their current music and members.
