BandFolkAcoustic

Lost In Boston is a dynamic modern acoustic folk quartet whose music features vibrant harmonies and catchy hooks with a splash of classic rock and rhythm & blues.

Biography

Lost In Boston consists of members Susan Parks (lead vocals), Peter "Gomez" Hanson (keys/vocals) and Joe Doherty (guitar/vocals), who have been playing together for over 15 years in various bands. In 2004 they decided to concentrate on writing and performing original folk music. With the addition of the beautiful vocal stylings of Lynette De Innocentis, the resulting quartet is now becoming well known in the Boston area for their catchy tunes, complex vocal harmonies, and a warm stage presence that will have you laughing and wondering what they're gonna do next.

Waiting for My Ship to Come In

Waiting for My Ship to Come In
by Joe Doherty (c) 2003

i feel like an artist without a picture to paint
i feel like a martyr who'll soon be a saint
i feel like a heroine who's waiting to faint
before the evil spell sets in
as the tide keeps rolling on in

i feel like a singer who can't use her voice
i feel like a decision without any choice
i feel like a dancer who's lost all her poise
and the spotlight's growing dim
as the tide keeps rolling on in

i see all these people who keep walking around
i feel i should speak but i don't make a sound
all i know is that i'm lost and you're found
so i guess you're gonna win
as the tide keeps rolling on in

i'm waiting for my ship to come in
i'm waiting for my ship to come in
i'm waiting for my ship to come in
Scanning the open horizon

when you realize there's no battle to be fought
there comes a time to forget what you've been taught
time is precious so waste what you've got
and who cares where you have been
cause the tide will keep rolling on in

The Border

Written By: Susan Parks

The Border

Oh, my eyelids feel so heavy
And all I want to do is sleep
But I got to keep on moving
’Cuz there's a promise I need to keep

Rain's peltin’ on my jacket
Ice cold water fills the air
The road seems to go on forever
A little further and I'll be there

All the obstacles that tried to stop me
All the landmines in my way
All the adversity I looked in the eye
Got me where I am today

Just a mile ‘til I reach the border
Just a mile ‘til it's said and done
Just a mile ‘til I restore the order
To the madness that I've become

Can't believe what I'm seeing
All the people in the street
Vacant eyes once all believing
Now just stare down at their feet

And it all comes down to this now
A fine line divides the life and death
As I walk right down the middle,
I close my eyes and hold my breath

All the obstacles that tried to stop me
All the landmines in my way
All the adversity I looked in the eye
Got me where I am today

Just a mile ‘til I reach the border
Just a mile ‘til it's said and done
Just a mile ‘til I restore the order
To the madness that I've become

Just a mile ‘til I reach the border
Just a mile ‘til it's said and done
Just a mile ‘til I restore the order
To the madness that I've become
