"Pusher Interview"

LouBands is one of Boston’s most unique emerging talents, and he proves it on his new project,
Bando Wave. This project is high-energy and easily catches listener’s attention as its catchy beats and
well delivered vocals take over. In just eight tracks, LouBands will leave any listener craving more of
his incredibly well thought out and extremely versatile sound. This project has some of the most fun
elements you can find in the independent circuits, and his all around attention to detail on Bando
Wave proves his immense talent.
Not only are the vocals and writing on the next level, but the production is also top-tier. He brought
everything he had for these songs, and chose a perfect base for the tracks. Balanced between all of
these excellent choices and obvious talent is the man himself, louBands, who is bound to crush
anything that gets in between him and his end goal.

Brought up in Boston, MA, LouBands showed an affinity for music early on in his life, and only got
more wrapped up in it as time passed. His talent was able to develop easily, as his voice is naturally
universal, and songwriting came quick to this inspired mind. Artists like Lil Wayne and Nas have
helped inspire this promising young talent’s recent work, and louBands has taken their influence and
created something new and beautiful out of it.
LouBands spent his life working to ultimately bring himself to the spot he’s in: a position to take over
the world. Over the years, LouBands has rooted himself in the scene, and is ready to take those next
steps necessary to really launch himself forward. LouBands has every weapon available to him, and
will soon use them to be a huge name in both the underground and mainstream scenes sooner rather
than later. - Jacob Greenberg

I don’t envy New Wave Trap artists when it comes to standing out in an overcrowded scene. Yet, it’s easy to see why up and coming artist Lou Band$ hasn’t failed to attract much-deserved attention with his latest drop “Loudy”.

He’s left the vocal effects minimal to allow the expression behind his charismatic vocal style to truly resonate. Whilst many similar artists like to invite you to a pity party with the lyrics Lou Band$ has adopted a more playful approach to create an up-vibe mix which allows you to enjoy his enviable command of meter and rhyme with the lyrics. With his viral-worthy slick stylish production style, it really wouldn’t surprise me if we saw a lot more from Lou Band$ in the future.

"Sounds of Boston"

LouBands brings the unwavering hip hop hustle, hunger, and entrepreneurial spirit to his latest album, Bando Wave.
Boston-based rapper LouBands is wasting no time making a name for himself. He started rapping only two years ago, but has already attracted the creative support of Young Jeezy’s producer, John Scott, to drop his latest album, Bando Wave. The album offers an equally distributed three-pronged approach of celebratory party bangers, relationship-focused slow jams, and get-that-money hustle anthems.

Bando Wave was designed to be LouBands’ medium to channel inspiration to his listeners and help them express their emotions. Describing the album, he says, “I want to present my own words with a vibe. I called it Bando Wave because it’s my personal wave, vibe, and sound to help you feel what I’m feeling…No matter what you’re going through, there’s a wave for you.”

Produced at Phoenix Down Recording in Somerville, Bando Wave has feature spots from local rap luminaries like Kyle Bent, Vooms, and HollywoodMIGS. The album starts off fast, with the hard-hitting rap banger, “On Everything,” which carries a beat with heavy moments supported by an echoey modern synth sound. The lyrics give us insight into the artist’s past and what it’s taught him. The lyrics, “Had to live in struggle / But it taught me how to dream” highlight one of LouBands’ main themes of hustling to accumulate wealth and improve his life. He says, “I was tired of the little taste of things in life and just being regular…so I wrote what has become my favorite line, ‘Imma get it how I wanna’…as the hook for ‘On Everything’ because I wanted to show that I’m taking charge.”

LouBands shows off his singing chops on smooth tracks like “Every Week,” a chill parking lot car cruiser track with a pleasing sing-song chorus and minor voice modulation that keeps the song on pace and in step with its mellow vibe. This theme is also present in the song, “Really With It” which has an increased focus on instrumental experimentation and autotune vocals, making for ear-candy flows. Lou’s vocals also stand out on the bedroom-eyed slow jam, “Yea Yea Yea” as well as “For The Stack,” which lays a smooth hook over haunting pianos.

However, not every track on Bando Wave is meant to be mellow and serious about life. For a weekend party anthem, check out “Movie Lit ft. HollywoodMIGS” which has a music video shot in the city that’s full of partying, get-down dancing, and smiles. “It was my birthday,” Lou explains, “and my girl rented a suite for me for the weekend. It was dope, so we decided on making a video and having a turnt up party too. We had a good time doing it.”

LouBands is trying to grow the Boston hip hop culture with his music, but he also says that there are a number of major obstacles facing rappers in Boston to grow their audience. To combat this, he says that Boston should encourage rap artists to support each other by getting behind each-others work and helping cross-promote. LouBands will continue to contribute to Boston’s hip hop culture by dropping fire records and giving local rap fans something to work with. - Jared Steinberg

Still working on that hot first release.

"LouBands" was born and raised in Boston Massachusetts, December of 1991. As the youngest of three, Lou always had the ambitions to be above and beyond in his life as well as in his career. However, living in the hood of Boston did not make it easy. A dream of success he knew would not come overnight.

Lou started rapping at the age of 13; however, due to his many family issues and getting kicked out at the age of 15, he learned some things were more important than others at a young age. Lou had attended a church with a choir which was a huge part in part in his life and kept him out of trouble but still with issues. Lou dropped his first single in 2017, My Connect is Felicia. It was the beginning of his journey and he later on dropped his first E.P. as well, BAND$. It was a collective project to show his range of work from the melodic singing and rapping to his unique beats he acquired from many Boston producers. Today, LouBands continues to grow and produce more music then he ever has as he knows and predicts "Success is around the corner."
